    Tracer powder?

    Re: Tracer powder? In .50 cal rounds, the tracers are loaded with IMR 5010 which is a "stick" powder. All other rounds are loaded with W860 or similar which is a ball powder. As stated above, the stick powders tend to have a hotter flame front and provide more consistent ignition.
