Rifle Scopes Zeroing 20MOA base and 20MOA ring mount?

Depends on what scope you are using. Some scopes have more than enough elevation range to zero with 40 moa mount, some don’t.

    Tikka shortage?

Here's one in the classifieds. It has a few upgrades though. https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/tikka-t3-ctr-20-308.7072096/#post-9430854

Looking for New Long Range Optic

I've never heard of that happening. I've had lots of NF scopes. This is not an issue. Just get the ZCO or TT.

    Starting the journey

It’s good enough to start. Mount it and start shooting. When you “outgrow” that rifle and scope, you can go big. That’s plenty to get you started though. If you don’t already have a supply of ammo, spend your time and money on that. The practice practice practice.

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

The more I look at it, the only slight change I would make is to move the section on the wind stadia with .1 mil increments in toward the center so that it’s visible at the high magnification. Maybe between 5 and 6 mils. If I’m going to measure with that section of the reticle, it will probably...

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

Winner! And not just for the new shooter. I am not a competitive shooter or a new shooter. I like this reticle a lot. I’m going to be purchasing a new scope soon (probably a TT or another ZCO). If this reticle was offered from either of them, I would buy it.

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

@Jack Master LOVE the reticle! It's easy on the eyes and provides plenty of hold overs. I absolutely hate reticles that have .2 wind marks that alternate above and below the main stadia line. For some reason, it just does not mesh with my eyes and kind of gives me a headache. Just my...

What happens if gunsmith passes away in middle of your build?

His passing was so sad. Not only was he a great smith, but he was one of the best human beings ever. I wish I had a Gradous build. That would be one I would never part with.

What happens if gunsmith passes away in middle of your build?

Unfortunately this did happen. Last year Robert Gradous passed away. He was a one man shop. I don’t know how the return of parts happened, but I do remember at the time, it was more complicated than you would think. He was one of the best. I’m sure there are some here that have direct knowledge...

    Manners stocks - Altus

I bought a Manners T4 from Altus a couple years ago that was inlet for a Defiance Deviant. They modified it to fit my Bighorn TL3. They even repainted the camo areas that were modified. It looked and fit perfectly. I would not hesitate to have them do the work.

Do you prefer Stock or Chassis?

I prefer a stock only because I have a much more relaxed firing hand allowing my thumb to ride on top of the stock. I’m very uncomfortable wrapping or floating my thumb on a pistol grip. Just personal preference.

Best Short Action for LR & Hunting

Yes you are kind of stuck if you want to use the short action and standard bolt face. Keep the tikka for prs and get something else for your hunting requirements is probably the best option.

Best Short Action for LR & Hunting

But he was asking about rebarreling his Tikka CTR to something more adequate for elk out to 500-600 yards. If those are the requirements, that limits the options. I agree there are many calibers that would be “better” but would also require much more than a simple rebarrel.

Best Short Action for LR & Hunting

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 308 and the right bullet on elk at 500 ish yards.
