    Ok so now the barrel on the da is exposed and not covered by a shroud like the ground gun dp, the op rod still has a tube protecting the op rod so I did was went to town chopping the shit out of the shroud but keeping the guide tube

    Moving forward on this hunk of trash the aircraft drums are shorter but taller so you have to modify how the mag locks in, this means a plate gets welded on to be the forward locking surface

    There’s was this detent actuated dealy thingy on the spade grip, I assume it was to lock the spade grip on an actual sg43 Yeah threw that in the trash and made a push button safety that locks the butterfly from coming forward

    Chopped off the two tabs on the back of the dp28 lower housing, also of note here, the lower has a nice bore hole drilled in it all the way to the back of the trigger, assumably for the manufacturing process but it works out great as this will be the channel for the linkage going to the trigger...

    Well got it cerakoted and all together, test fires in the trap fine. Need to shoot it outside at some point, and shop for some accessories, need an adapter to mount it on my laffette and need a bipod but all in all was pretty simple project

    Test fired it, fired but didn’t want to eject for shit, turns out the ejector is worn out or just didn’t mate well with the replacement ejector plate. So I ordered a replacement from brp and it comes long meant to be filed to “time” it to the ejector plate, did that now it kicks brass out

    Exactly, the German economy was failing after the treaty of Versailles, and Mauser was trying to survive. I believe these and most of the stuff they were allowed to make were only sporting types and also only made for export. The markings on the reciever only say Germany over the serial number
