You answered your own question. We aren't saying not to buy a Proof barrel. We are saying if you are buying/building a new rifle that we wouldn't be buying a Savage to put a Proof barrel onto. Has the latest ammo shortage changed your rifle of choice?
It hasn't. I just got 16lbs of IMR 7977 for the 300WM when my 16lbs of H1000 runs out and 16lbs of IMR 4451 just on case I decide to get a 6.5CM some day. I also put 16lbs of Titegroup on the order to max out the hazmat tag. I also just got 15K LP primers from Scheel's on Friday.- jlficken

Firearms SOLD: Tikka T3 CTR 20" 308Win w/ option of Bravo chassis
It has 103rds through it. I did put a scratch on the bottom of the barrel when putting it into the KRG Bravo chassis (using CTR mags) as it's got sharp edges and I forgot to put tape on the barrel but it's not bad. I have the box and all original paperwork plus the original T3 as well as a T3x...- jlficken

Best grain 308 bullet for Accuracy International AT
I've put a total of 1200rds through 2 different barrels on my AT so far. Both of them shoot Hornady 168gr BTHP's great. I settled on 43.5gr of Varget, CCI 200, and Winchester brass. I took it out to 950yds with that load awhile ago and it did very well.- jlficken
