    Accuracy standard

A lot is going to depend on your rifle and what it is capable of. I’m not going to try to get the same lot accuracy out of my factory barreled CZ as I try to get out of my Vudoo The rifle simply isn’t capable of the same level of accuracy. In general though if you can shoot 1 MOA at 100 yards...

    Tikka T1X

It’s a cheap plastic stock. Chances are it is warped. My factory stock would flex and hit the barrel every time I loaded the bipod. That is why everyone trashes the stock and buys something else. My factory stock stayed on my rifle for about 5 hours. It went to the range once then in the junk pile.

    Cz 457 varmint review

Interesting. If that is Turkish Walnut it’s like no Turkish walnut I’ve ever seen before. That kind of figure develops in a few species of wood and walnut isn’t one of them. I do know I have seen some stocks in the past that were marketed as walnut and were actually birch or maple stained to...

    CZ 457

I don’t have a CZ with the MDT stock but I had one of the MDT Rimfire chassis with the skeleton stock and really liked it. The only real thing it needed was a bag rider which is easy enough to add. I’m personally not a fan of the Luth stocks for many reasons. They just feel like plastic junk to...

Very nice stock on that rifle. I actually build custom furniture and that kind of wood is very rare. It is called flame birch. That rifle is a keeper for sure.

Generally speaking I cut my groups inside 100 in half. My 50 yd 6x5 with the factory barrel was around .4”. After the custom barrel I can pretty consistently shoot right around a .2”. At 100 I average .6-.7”. When I stretch out to 200 yards I have not shot groups but I have a 2 1/2” piece of...

    Tikka T1X

Oh the factory barrel was a PITA to remove but quite a few guys have had good luck with PB blaster and heat. On the other hand I’ve heard other people who didn’t have any issues removing their barrels. Both of the ones I had were not so easy to remove however. I will say I didn’t just buy a drop...

    Tikka T1X

That is the same thing I have seen with all my factory barrels. Both my CZ 457 and my T1x when it still had the factory barrel shot really well inside 100 yards. After 100 yards the groups really fell apart though no matter what ammo I was using. Beyond 100 yards is where you really see a...

    CZ 457

If you think you will be dialing you will want something with exposed turrets. In general going from a 50 yard shot to a 100 yd shot is going to be close to a 2 mil difference in elevation. It will also be a good idea to get something other than a standard duplex reticle. 22lr is really...

Ive had really bad luck with the DIP rails. I had one on a T1x and one on a 10/22 that were both marked 25 moa. They were both actually 0 MOA. I switched to an Anarchy Outdoors rail on my T1x and am really happy with it. I believe it was $60 and came with a built in level.

Rifle Scopes New Tract Toric 4.5-30x56

What magnification are you doing this on? I find my Tracts and the 4.5-30 Tract I have used to have very forgiving parallax in the mag range where I would need it. usually If I’m scanning for targets at different ranges without touching parallax I’m going to be at 12-15x max. Otherwise I’m going...

Rifle Scopes New Tract Toric 4.5-30x56

I really don’t think 2” difference in FOV at 100 yards is enough to really worry about. Looking at it from a practical standpoint those scopes numbers are all so close if you are scanning to transition targets at 12-15x there isn’t really enough of a difference to matter.

    DeLane Development Group Rimfire Ventures

I have a Viper PST gen 2 on my rifle with a 40 moa base. I know the specs on the Viper say it has 20 mils of total elevation but I have nearly 24 mils of available up elevation on my scope. Because of the way the zero stop works I don’t know how much I have under my 50yd zero but it obviously...

    22/45 MKIV triggers

I think with the triggers on the 22/45’s It's kind of the luck of the draw. I shot a friends before I bought mine. The trigger was so heavy I had to check and make sure the gun wasn’t on safe. It was horrible. When I bought mine I did it knowing I would have to change out the trigger right away...

    Tikka T1X

When I put the custom barrel on my T1x I noticed it was much more consistent. I very rarely saw a flyer at 50 yards. Where I really saw a difference though was beyond 100 yards. Even using the same exact ammo groups got significantly smaller at 200 yards and beyond.

    Help needed!

If it was me I would just buy a RimX or Vudoo but that will be over your budget by the time you get everything. You could also get a Bergara Barreled action along with the chassis or stock of your choice and a nice trigger and be right around $2k all in.

    Accu Tac Bipod?

I’m a big fan of the BR-4 G2. I switched the springs out on the legs on mine to a lighter weight spring. It makes it much easier to deploy.

Advice on longer ranges 250 yards +

The only way you get better shooting rimfire in the wind is to shoot in the wind. Pick an ammo and stick with it then practice. Every ammo I have tried shoots a little different at long range and constantly changing can really make things difficult. I found an ammo I like that shoots well in my...
