    Zero angle question

There's no follow-on correction needed after having the app calculate zero angle regardless of base incline. Just so that's clear. However, if you went from a rifle with a 0 MOA base zero angled, then put in a perfectly machined 30 MOA base, you could add 0.5 degrees to your zero angle and...

Bullet stabilization issues? .300 Norma Mag

If you ever have questions about stability with Hornady bullets or bullets in the 4DOF library, use 4DoF to check gyro. It uses a physical model of the bullet, not a generalized Miller style formula. Here's the 230 in a 10 twist at sea level. Should shoot groups fine but will probably have...

Bullet stabilization issues? .300 Norma Mag

230 Atip should be Okay in 1:10 (but barely). 250's will not be.

Is bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

It's been a minute since I looked at this subject. I ran a bunch of 6DoF simulations but the simulations are always subject to the input/boundary conditions vs. reality so it can be difficult to verify if any of it is real trends or just junk data. I think years ago Jayden did a bunch of...

Which bipod for PRS and NRL Hunter

Standard single pull Ckye pod. In PRS if you need a double or triple pull someone in the squad will have one. (Most of the time, even when the whole squad thinks they need it.. you don't need it). If you need more height in NRL Hunter, use a tripod with a tac table. It's usually set up to...

    16-18 inch shorty rifles

Cut the front 16" off of last year's match barrel to get into fresh rifling then whittled a bit on the Bridgeport. It rings every time it gets bumped... lol we'll see if it shoots worth a damn. Should be a good beater coyote truck gun. ETA: Mack Bros Element XLR Atom + Sig folder HS Precision...

    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

Appropriate piece of laminate tracked down! Also fitted a reproduction mount to the rifle and bolted in a post-war Hensoldt. Figured it has the holes might as well bolt an optic on for looks.

    22arc versus 6 arc

No AR Comp data on file for 75ish gr. projectiles, sorry.

    22arc versus 6 arc

Not off hand. I'm out of town for a few days but I can look when I get back. I only do 22 ARC for thermal night hunting and run 62 factory ammo for that. Haven't stepped into reloading it yet.

    22arc versus 6 arc

Most match bullets are on a sliding scale from about 280,000rpm( begin grey zone) to 380,000rpm (black). Really depends on temperature and bore geometry and surface finish. For a 7 twist that's about 2700-3700fps. I would guess most people won't see problems until they're over 3100-3200fps...

    Nickel Plated Hornady 308 Match?

It's older. May have been a TAP SKU or old premium match product. Not sure. We haven't stamped "match" heads for at least 7-8 years now. Eta: I should say, "that I know about". 😀

    Metric trajectory correction formula

While the linear units used with angular measures tend not to be critical for practical application, Radians are, in fact, the standard SI/metric angular unit.

    62 ELD-VTs and twist rate

Should be fine at 1.3. Will have some AoA related drag but will likely still group fine. This was a 62gr at 3450 in a 1:8" twist.
