Range Report 25 cal for comps

Barrel length is 25" hung on an Impact action in a JAE chassis......been my go to rig for a couple years. Accuracy has been stellar thus far..... I've found the OAL length to be super consistent with none varying more than .003" Here's a 900 yd group while I was validating ..... as for the...

Range Report 25 cal for comps

In line with what I'm thinking as well I bought 2k bullets and this tube is going to get all of them! I can't remember ever shooting out a 6.5 barrel as I usually got nervous and pulled them after 2k .......my 6's well that's a different matter! I've had them go in as few as 600 and never...

Range Report 25 cal for comps

I spun up a 25 Creedmoor (1:17.25 Krieger )a couple weeks ago and can tell you guys this new 131 25 bullet is legit! Was able to reach 3,050fps easily with H4350 and lapua brass and my initial validation yielded a G7 BC slightly higher than their published .330, I was closer .350 in my kestrel...

Gunsmithing Surgeon 591 WSM Action or Defiance XM Action for a 6.5 PRC build??

One of the biggest differences will be the extra length of the XM action. I run Defiance XM in a 7 WSM and having the ability to load longer than a regular action length makes it easy to push the 180 -195 class bullets....... I don't think that surgeon offers this option. This said, I think...

    Gunsmithing Mag feeding issue?

Try adjusting the feed lips..... pull the left one in a bit and the right one out, basically adjusting the alignment of the case between the feed lips in the magazine. All magazines need a little tweaking over time to keep them running.

Gunsmithing Modify AICS mag for max COAL

I tried them but found them unreliable..... tired all the fixes and haven’t had luck making them run reliability, especially if they get a little dirty.... Nothing beats the original AI mags for reliability...... I’ve sucessfukky used the drill / weld method but I used aluminum for the backer...

Gunsmithing Browning A Bolt safety question

I’d think you could simply remove the piece of the trigger group that pivots to lock the bolt as the safety is engaged....... shouldn’t affect how the trigger functions, just how it locks the bolt. I don’t have a picture but do have a few brownings and have done work on many of them.....I...

Gunsmithing Rem 700 AW mag cut help needed.

I’ll second the difficulties of long term reliable feeding of AW mags in a 2 lug action..... they may work for a while but wait until a little bit of dust gets in the follower and good luck! as for the ARC magazines.... epic fail in my experience as well..... tried them in defiance, impact...

I have both the two of Mk4 ERTs that your looking at and a mk6........ Both are great scopes, don't let anyone push to other optics, that new mk4 34mm is a great scope that tracks perfectly......we've bench tested a couple of them and they are spot on through 20 MILs. I'd say for a full size...

For you guys that do not have a wrench, it won't completely protect you......you have to use it right......As an extreme sufferer I have been to known to turn the wrench past the desired setting....if the specs call for 20 in/lb then 40 or 60 must be better!! CJW

Range Report Applied Ballistics Kestrel; Pro staff support thread

Sorry if this has been coverd before, I tried to search and read half is thread but can't find it...... Is there a way to account for a scope correction factor in the AB kestrel? I've done a tall target test and need to dial 20.2 MIL to impact on a 20 MIL line at 100yds. The only way I can...
