Sounds like you got a great set up. RPR with a Kreiger barrel. Just out of curiosity what length and what contour?

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

I don't load to the lands, Dog, as I am kinda afraid of pressures doing that. I feel safer giving that bullet a little jump. Why I made the suggestion about checking around to see how far off the lands the others are loading to. FWIW

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

If I've caught up with the comments, you are using Berger, and it touches the lands at the 2.25ish area and with a COAL in the 2.9s. If so, I'd search around and see what the users of the Berger bullet you use, see how far off the lands they are loading to, an average, and start there. That...

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

No on using the LRI barrel and its chambering. Ruger RPR barrel and Rock River Arms barrel- both off the shelf.

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

FYI, the longest COAL I can load for is 2.86 due to the constraints of my magazine, unless I want to single feed. The longest COALs I do load to are 2.81 and 2.80 because that is the max COAL my AR-10's mags will hold. So, I end up trying to find my best or most accurate loads through which...

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

Well we come up with a little bit of diff on the Berger, but it goes a long way to 'splain your COAL measurement.

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

Our posts are 'passing in the night' :) I think the Berger Hybrid has a hybrid ogive and is indeed longer in front of the ogive than is the Hornady 140 ELD-M bullet. The Berger is a long sleek looking 'little devil'. Someone put on-line a table that lists most all of the bullets and their...

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

I might be wrong, and someone correct me if so, but I 'think' SAAMI specs for chamber length is 2.825. That's from bolt face , breech end of chamber to the end of 'free bore' and where the rifling begins. A bullet's meplat (tip) can extend further than 2.825" and even at that its ogive may...

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

2.255 sounds in the ball park for a CBTO (cartridge base to ogive) measurement (where the ogive touches the lands). Longest COAL i've measured was in the 2.85-ish area. What bullet are you using? Bullets can have difering lengths in front of their ogives.

    Anti-Static Funnel Setup

@Airw4ves, I like the funnel as I can go direct to the cartridge case. But wish the 'thing' was deeper dished. Because when I use ball type powder, like Superformance , it can 'splatter' (for lack of a better word) 'bits' of powder out over the rim when I dump the charge from my dispenser if...

    Rifle Scopes Kahles CS

@Lenny. That is how Kahles' windage turret works. I had to adjust mine so the POI moved to the right a few clicks. From there to return to zero (zero-stop), all I had to do was loosen the set screws and rotate the turret so its '0' lined up with the index mark on the turret base. Re-tighten...

    Rifle Scopes Kahles CS

Winny it is easy, once I got it sorted out in my own head. I think I suffered one of those mental blocks a person can get over something. My point in my thread though was to show appreciation for good CS and Kahles gave it. lg Here is the short story- I ended up zero'd with the turret...

    Rifle Scopes Kahles CS

I gotta agree as I could not have asked for or expected better. Shooting was not my career, but in my field there were companies , few, who were renowned for their CS. I could have bought any other such scope on the market. Steiner, US Optics, S&B, March and am sure I am missing a couple and...

    Rifle Scopes Kahles CS

Hope this is okay. I want to post publicly how satisfied I am and how great the customer service is at Kahles. I recently bought their K624i. Read the manual. I have set zero stops on other scopes (Vortex). I did not understand with certainty how to set the zero stop on my Kahles. So, I...

    Changing Bullets

Late to your party, but what I do when I get a good buy on my 6.5CM is just shoot them. Improve my marksmanship. I can use them for cold bore and foulers. When done, I have fire formed brass to load with components, and I use Hornady's 140gn HPBT Match bullets, I do want to shoot seriously...

    Best spotting scope with reticle?

I have a folder full of research info on spotting scopes, including the types bird watchers use. I ended up buying the Luepold Mk4 20-60x80 w/TMR. Was lucky as Optics Planet had them on sale plus it came with a $250 gift cert. I am totally satisfied with my choice. It is clear and sharp...
