Re: Best caliber/rifle for 600-1000 yards. If I was gonna shoot deer to 600 and yotes to 1000 I would go w/ a 7mm rem mag or wsm. There are new bullets out there that have extremely high b.c.'s for this caliber and they don't recoil much more than a .308 if you get a heavy barrel. Also w/ a...- linksmechanic

Re: At what point am I wasting money? I can't imagine needing anything better than my mark 4 6.5-20x50 IR mildot and I've looked through the uso's alot. Definitely not worth another $1000.00 to me. Now read again I said me.- linksmechanic

Best long distance rifle?
Re: Best long distance rifle? What about a remington sendero sfII it has a 26" barrel and weigh's about 9 1/4 pounds. Very manageable for hunting as I pack one around through the canadian rockies without much trouble. Plus there is excellent long range calibers. The price is right also.- linksmechanic
