    Depends on the bike. My KLR650 has a great rack (yes she does), Ive T-Boned long guns on it more than once for trips back and forth from my FFL. Sportbikes/nakeds may be more difficult. You could carry a torque wrench with you, and remove the barreled action for the stock to cut down on OAL...

    Don't know of a set of electronic earpro that I'd rely on inter-team comms in theater that's 1/10 the cost of a can. Maybe it exists, I just havent seen it. A good set of MSA muffs only shed ~20db, but they're $250+...not that thats what the fed pays for them. I'd take the can any day...

    yup. On another note, just got mine in. Turret clicks feel nothing short of amazing. I prefer them to S&B, surprisingly, but I think the larger diameter elevation turret has a lot to do with that. I can't be 100% sure because I don't have one sitting here to compare it to, but glass quality...

    Never looked through a $180 fixed 10, but the glass in my $300 leupold vx2 fixed 4x on my levergun looks pretty exceptional. Much, much better than the burris....not even close. Given similar clarity in a 10x, I have to say I'd choose it over the XTR, and spend the difference on ammo or save it...

    I have the same question...only justification i can think of is to cut costs and/or space constraints. I guess if you had a holdover reticle and never dialed wind you could rezero the elevation turret, and simply dial the windage turret to the new zero, and lock it if you were switching...
