Training Courses Colorado Precision Rifle - Spring 2024 Class Dates

Excellent classes. Enjoyed my time with Brian. The piece I learned and continue to implement all the time is to use a 1000 yard truing bar for adjusting my ballistic curve to match up my data.

F T/R Competition Any experience with Tier one bipods?

Have owned the gen 1 version for quite awhile. It's simple, sleek, and solid. No complaints for prone, bench, or general plinking. I suppose a guy could get away with it for PRS style comps, but it would have adjustability limitations.

    7mm PRC questions

thanks for the Hawkins article. that's what I was looking for. I have some H1000, 4831SC, and some Ramshot LRT that I'll be trying out with 175 ELDX's.

    7mm PRC questions

I'm just getting started with my 7PRC, but I dig it so far. Using factory Hornady 175 ELDXs I'm getting .6MOA groups at 100y and a .4MOA group at 500y. I'll be handloading this once fired brass, so I'm curious what y'all are using for powder in your cases? Terminus Zeus long action - Proof 29...

Rifle Scopes New for 2023 Optics

Sorry for the delay, just now seeing this. I don’t have mine yet. I really just like it for a mid-range gas gun build. 6.5 grendel or 6ARC. The fact that it has adjustable parallax is a big selling point for me. I already trust the Mark 5’s so the quality shouldn’t be an issue. I’m kinda...

Advanced Marksmanship Wind target - piano keys

I could be mistaken, but I though Austin of AA Targets made the "piano key" targets for Frank. @lowlight ...though I don't see them on his website.

M.A.R.S. 1550nm LRF with Integrated Applied Ballistics

@CR2 SS those people are the kind that waste money on cigarettes and lottery tickets. I’ll have to save up for this and probably sell some stuff in order to afford it, but it comes down to what you want, and what you’re willing to do to get it. Saying that for the other readers, I know you...

what's the go to caliber for PRS

Plus one for what Robert is saying here. I shoot the Hornady factory 6GT ammo. I buy it from GAP. It’s very consistent. Better than 1/2moa and 2875fps. Honestly have zero complaints. As soon as I go through all the cases I have, I’ll start reloading off all this once fired. (Nice profile...

    Carrying weapon> Duty to Inform...

What the police don’t know, won’t hurt them. If they stopped you for speeding, they shouldn’t be doing anything except checking your id, registration, proof of insurance and either writing you a ticket or cutting you loose. You don’t have to answer any of their questions period, but especially...

New Year, New Rules, maybe ...

Hey I resemble this remark… Firstly let me say that Missouri is not East Coast LOL. Seriously had my eyes opened with this match. The natural terrain proved to be way more challenging and fun than any of the man-made barricades in PRS matches. By far the two most difficult things for me were...

    RifleKraft USA (Unconventional Skills Assessment)

I really enjoyed this assessment class. It was definitely unique, and I think it has a ton of potential. Honestly it was so different from anything I’d done before that I was kind of “thrown off” by the flow at first. I had some difficulty really understanding what Chris wanted me to do at...

What does ELR / long range with 22lr translate to?

Ok actually the wind was pretty terrible that day. Either way, I’m not a fan of it, in the same way I’m not a fan of one mile shots in PRS style matches. It falls in the category of “gimmicky” to me. #shrug

What does ELR / long range with 22lr translate to?

8 mils to 1000y for my centerfire. Roughly 8 mils to 200y for my 22LR. Why are we shooting 22’s past 200 yards in competition anyway? Unless the targets are huge, it’s a low percentage shot. Even then it’s a big IF. I was at a 22LR match at Altus in FL recently and there was a full size...

    Custom Curves Calculator??

Ok, that's what I was afraid of. Even the free calculator on the AB website doesn't have his curves. what the heck?
