Going back to prior topics on sporter contours - @bohem - I think you may be losing customers by having the "Not compatible with muzzle threads" notes for various options. I feel like ive seen those notes elsewhere before but just see it on the solus barreled actions now. It says light palma...

The solus barreled actions are intriguing. What blank comes with them, Ballistic advantage? It's interesting that a osprey blank costs $360 but choosing an Opsrey blank instead of whatever "OEM" blank is standard on the solus barreled action is a $350 cost premium. If these were available with...

Proper Break In - Weatherby Vanguard

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You see a bunch of reports of 2500+ round barrel life for 6.5s on match rifles that are primarily shot in long strings and run hot. Sounds like you're much easier on it than that. How long is it going to take you to shoot 2500 rounds through that gun?

Dillon 550 only- Tips, Tricks, Process Q&A thread .

I only touch the brass once sizing/de-capping on a single stage currently and I don’t have to index anything. With an in-line fab case ejector the case gets kicked into the tub on its own as my hand is on the way the the shell holder with the next case. It’s sounding like my best use case may...

6 mm GT vs 6x47 Lapau or other maybe 243 Winchester. I see this has been touched on in 6MM vs 6x47 Lapau about 5 years ago.

If you are truly worried about components due to global conflicts.. It's a 6mm so you shouldn't need that much brass to get through a barrel.

Dillon 550 only- Tips, Tricks, Process Q&A thread .

How is that any faster than using a single stage with a case ejector? My main intention is to prime, charge, seat on one tool head. I'm comfortable with the sizing quality i get with one pass on a single stage de-capping, sizing, expanding with ball using forster honed dies and in-line case...

Dillon 550 only- Tips, Tricks, Process Q&A thread .

Bump on this as i'm probably going to setup a 550 soon. Only ever used a single stage. For stick powder i intend to use my autotrickler v3 and pour through funnel on 550. I assume it's not ideal to have the AT sitting on the same bench right next to the press as you might get some movement...

Thoughts on the Desert Tech Covert?

they are very accurate but a standard (non covert) model is less stable shooting than a traditional bolt rifle and coverts must be even more ass heavy. Ergos just kind of suck.

Accuracy expectations from 6.5 creedmoor chassis

My point is all those 3 round groups are statistically insignificant and even with all the different shit you tried between 3 round groups they generally hit the same spot and are within normal statistical distribution of each other for group size. Id pick one in the middle of charge weight...

Accuracy expectations from 6.5 creedmoor chassis

Would you expect to see a significant difference if you shot all those groups in the same manner but with a single load? I wouldn't.

    300 RUM recommendations

22" barrel + ultra 7 is still more than i want to deal with on a hunting rifle but not that big of a deal. I did it for 1 season and relegated the ultra 7 to range and safe time until i had hunting rifles with shorter barrels. I tend to do a lot more walking and rifle carrying than shooting...

For 18” finish length benchmark #4 is tits. Finishes at 0.725” but it tapers faster on the breech end than both of the ones you mentioned but slower taper from 6” to muzzle so will be similar weight. Not sure that helps Josh but if you had to do a custom contour I really like that one. If...

    SAKO 90- in stock

The hunter model is almost enough for me to own a rifle with a soul (wood stock). Only thing really holding me back is that they didn’t do the pic rail on that model. 6 creed chambering would help too.

    Gunsmithing CLE Krieger Barrel

Huh. Interesting. Why aren't any of the standard reamers 0.2250 ish or at least 0.2245 freebore diameter? In the OP pics its still ugly how uneven the lands are. On @Greasegun's pics it looks like the land wasn't touched at all on one side so that means it must be at least 0.0025" off center if...

    New 2024 MPVO Options

Yep. I had a March 3-24x52 that no matter what I tried getting parallax dialed out, a sharp image, and a sharp reticle wasn't happenin. Besides not being able to get that dialed in, it was a cunt to even get close due to the shallow DOF. Life was better when I replaced it with a bushnell for 1/3...

    Precision supressors

OCL polonium is a steel can designed more for use with a gas gun. I got a polonium k for a 14.5" AR. The Ti cans usually make more sense for bolt guns to me. I've not seen anything definitive on suppressor x being a better "precision rifle" can than suppressor Y. If there is real data out...

    New 2024 MPVO Options

I'm happy with the Maven RS1.2 2.5-15 thus far. Good FFP reticle. Glass is plenty good for me. Only gripe I have is that the parallax knob is quite tight and difficult to move.
