Has anyone tried using a KAC QDC can on a bolt gun? Their quick-mount seems like one of the most solid and repeatable, and well suited to precision. But I'm not sure I've ever seen one on anything other than an SR-xx. Has anyone else? What were the results?

If you can swing them, and aren't worried about concealability, the Hesco lightweight plates are my favorite. Their Level-III 3800 plate is only 2.2lbs in a SAPI medium. They are priced accordingly, though. But they're not particularly concealable. I think they're over an inch thick.

If you're trying to keep costs down (which I'm guessing, with the AR500 plates), Velocity Systems is good bang-for-buck.

You might also find that ESAPI Medium carriers work better at 9.5"x 12.5". Most carriers can flex to fit the additional 0.5" in width, and there's not so much vertical play.

I'm using the Badger Unimount for my LR17. It's been bombproof on my SR-25. Toopoorformance is spot on; there's not much room in the mount, fore/aft. But on an AR platform, I haven't had any problem getting eye relief set.
