Look up a few posts above, posted the exit hole. I believe if you're close, it will explode. When I was hunting, I saw a 300 win with the 200 gr or 212 gr ( I cant remember what he was using) blow a missive hole on impact at close range. Dead is dead, and it was a goat so not a tough animal...
It exited high above the shoulder, I was shooting fairly steep uphill and hit a littler higher on the shoulder then I wanted, but it dropped. id say a thumb sized hole. it certainly expanded.
i have very limited experience with the AMG, i just received mine yesterday. i do own 2 vortex gen 2 razors and love them, they just arent practical for my style of hunting. they are large and heavy. the AMG is just a smaller, lighter version of the gen 2 razor so IMO it is a perfect cross over...
mark is their "tactical" line and vx is more hunting . i have a vx 6 and would not recommend it for major range use. for hunting, it works just fine but the turrets are mushy and not impressive. i would not want to spend a day dialing them, id feel like they would fall apart. the vx6hd line...

i have a vx6 now, an i do like it to a point. just seemed like a lot of money for what you get. the vx6 hd seems to have everything the long range hunter would want.
curious to see if anyone has any feedback yet on this line of scopes. they're creeping up in the nighforce nxs price range but seem to be catering to a different crowd. the 4-24 weighs 23 ounces with a 34mm tube and 52mm obj. the 3-18 with 50 mm object is 20 ounces
