Don't have mine yet but just be aware wait times are pretty long right now. Ordered one for a hunting set up in August and still no word on when it'll ship. Nailed a couple coyotes back to back a few weeks ago at 328 and 343yds with my 223:
A muzzle braked 20" barreled action in either an MDT HNT26 or XLR Element 4.0 magnesium and a ~28oz optic would probably fit that role quite nicely. My 223 currently sits at almost 10lbs on the dot in a HNT26 arca + folder with an empty mag, NX8 4-32, and gen 1.0 Nucleus with 20" Savage steel...
They were indeed bought out by Ultimatum. Sounds like they honored existing DeFacto orders and aren't taking any more: They instead have a 700 clone of sorts coming out: I find this comment most intriguing though: sounds like they have a lightweight action on the horizon:
That lil fella indeed. I'm up in Western Canada. I'll be honest, I'm not much of a biologist so I just blanket call them gophers...could be prairie dogs? I just know they're fun to shoot at. Edit: Wikipedia agrees with Richardson ground squirrel. Their distribution map puts me up in around the...
Agreed on the dots and circles with the rest above. That's a gopher roughly 370-400yds laid out to the left of the reticle at the 2.2 mil hold over. Have fun with a line cutting across that. Also, Don't judge the optical quality off my pictures. I have a hard time getting the S22 to work with...
Does anyone know if the AO option works with the Area419 knob? As much as I love Sterk swept handles, I use the 419 knobs on my 457s and find it has a similar feel to the oem ones on my ARC actions. Just worried that the AO handles are too wide before the threaded part for a seamless transition...
Yeah, I also bought my NX8 with the intention of running in on a hunting rifle due to the insane pricing of the MK5 up here. I just recently moved it from my CZ457 to my new T3x CTR hunting set up. So long as it eats monos without issue, I'll probably leave it be for the foreseeable future. Now...
So I have both, the NX8 4-32 MIL-C and two ZCO 420 MPCT3. The NX8 sat on my CZ 457 for a while and was used out to 300m/328yds at the range and in the field against gophers and the like. It has served that purpose quite well. With the 30moa scope base on my CZ, I have no issues dialing out to...
Something can't be right here. I have a 26" 1:8 running 140 eld-m reloads @ 2818 fps. My dope for 640m/700yds is 4.4 mils. For your numbers, my loads would have to be dragging ass at only 2337.5 fps mv. Very slow would be an understatement at those speeds...
Unless things have changed in the last couple years, the CTR and Binderless AICS mags allow for similar COAL. I can get 2.96" with MDT binderless AICS mags, which also work in my other non-tikka chassis rifles.
To put it bluntly, we get fucked in Canada as far as optic prices go. For example, in the US, Razor gen II prices almost make it a no brainer in a reasonable budget range. Up here in Canada, we pay $3599.00 CAD, or the equivalent of ~$2675 USD with the current exchange rates, and good luck...
Thanks for the reply, and glad to hear they're interchangeable! Unfortunately I'm up in Canada so I've got to source the part through the main distributor here. I'll just have to swap bolts with my 22 if I end up needing the 17 before I can get a replacement part. I thought most of the...
So today I was an idiot and dropped my 17HMR. The threaded part on the handle that the knob threads on sheared right off. Anyone know if bolts are interchangeable between actions? Doubt I'll need the 17 any time soon, but figured I've got a 457 in 22lr as well. I know the barrels are...
My Nucleus 1.1 had a hard to turn bolt stop. I removed it, polished it and cleanedup the edges around the divot for the ball bearing. Made it feel a lot better.
