Three of my four had the same issue. Find the scuff marks on the magazines that stick, and file (not sand) off a couple thousands. The modification won't even show if you use a fine tooth single-cut file.
What do you think are the shortcomings of the Vudoo? It's as precise as any other 22 rimfire and it feeds reliably without damaging the bullet. Anything else is an accessory ... with dozens of off-the-shelf options. Oh yeah, the magazines are big and it's possible to load them incorrectly.
You may have to remove a little material to get the magazines to drop freely. Look for the shiny spots where the magazine rubs and take a little off with a smooth file. I had to "adjust" three of my four magazines.
I took that comment to mean that the impact point will tell you how consistent the velocity is from shot to shot. That it's not necessary to measure it.
You did not mention detail cleaning the bolt. If the firing pin is dragging, it may not be hitting the rim consistently, affecting ignition. That will certainly affect velocity.
I have a little over 3500 rounds through mine. The mags feed flawlessly but 2 of the 4 do not drop free. There is a slight drag installing and removing them, but a light touch from my middle finger while holding the mag release with my index finger will knock them free.
Looks like you found a way to mount the Magnetospeed to the chassis instead of the barrel. Care to share the details/photos? BTW, nice shooting ... but I expect that from a Vudoo.
I've disassembled the can, inspected and cleaned it twice in 300 rounds. There's no evidence of a baffle strike. The latest tests were made with a clean can. I like this idea. I know that small changes in the adjustment of a barrel tuner can make big changes in group sizes. The weight of...
I checked concentricity between the threads and the bore ... no more than 0.0005 TIR. I clamped an indicator holder to the thread protector and rotated the thread protector to measure runout.
More testing with a suppressor ... 100 yards from a bench with bipod and rear bag. I've now tried SK, Center-X, Midas+, Eley Match and Tenex. The pattern is always the same ... precision is always better without a suppressor. One of the lower targets was shot with the Sparrow and the other...
