That's interesting. You're running the Starline but primarily in practice loads and Peterson for your match (and monster masher) loads. Do you prefer the large primer style or do you use both?
Exactly. That's the reason I use Winchester in my .308 and not Lapua. Starline might be worth a try. Much cheaper than anything else, I just don't know anything about it....in a rifle anyways.
I'd like to hear some feedback on what brass you fellas are using in the 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns. I'm putting together a Palmetto variation. As much as I like Lapua brass, I'm not sure that feeding that through an AR would be cost effective. I know that in my DPMS 308, I prefer to use Winchester...
I'm replacing the Leupold rings with some Badger Max50 rings. on my 338 Lapua. The scope rail I'm running is a Murphy 40MOA base which has it slanted toward the barrel. The Leupold rings were a bit higher than the Badger Max50's I'm now using which are a standard height. Problem I'm running into...
BTW, same price, same head stamp as brass offered in August. Feedback on Midway website claims that brass is in every way similar to regular 338 Lapua brass.
I'm assuming that this scope is being closed out because of changes in the reticle, namely the EBR-2D. The current manufacture is the EBR-7C. I'm curious as to the advantages (if any) of one reticle over the other.
Would you happen to have any youtube videos (bookmarked) on this scope that would fast track the learning curve? I could be tempted to buy another.....if they're still available.
Thanks for posting this. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. Too good to pass up. Will be my first Vortex scope. Have Leupold, Nikon and SS SWFA. Among other things, Looking forward to playing with the reticle.
