Rifle Scopes Scope Cover Problem

I'm replacing the Leupold rings with some Badger Max50 rings. on my 338 Lapua. The scope rail I'm running is a Murphy 40MOA base which has it slanted toward the barrel. The Leupold rings were a bit higher than the Badger Max50's I'm now using which are a standard height. Problem I'm running into now is that the Butler Creek covers I'm now using aren't able to slip on the front of the scope. Scope to barrel separation is clear but not enough to mount the Butler Creek cover on it. The sight picture is good right where its at, so I'm not in favor of going with a higher ring style. What other method is there of covering the scope? The scope is a SWFA SS 5-20.
