Recommendations for a Hard Case for Shipping a Barreled Action?

Yep - I read that comment about the BA possibly hammering itself out last night. I’m planning on putting some closed cell foam bumpers at the ends of of a 3” mailing tube (that I’ll cut close to the overall length of the BA and put some stacked cardboard either in front of, or behind that foam...

Recommendations for a Hard Case for Shipping a Barreled Action?

Yeah - I think my plan is going to be wrapping the BA in the pipe insulation with bubble wrap around that and then make some bumpers for both ends using some scrap closed cell foam. I’ll drop that into a triangular shipping tube and then wrap that with strapping tape to make sure it stays sealed

Recommendations for a Hard Case for Shipping a Barreled Action?

I need to ship a barreled action in for repairs and I was wondering what the best type of hard case would be to use for sending it? I've got a Pelican case that I use for my normal range use but I think that's a bit heavy and bit too big for just the barreled action (20" barrel) once I get it...

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Sounds simple enough - I appreciate the information

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Quick question to anyone that has sheared off the bolt stop on a 360 (which I unfortunately managed to do today). How difficult is it for the end user to swap out the broken part for a new one? Are any there any special tools needed? I'm going to reach out to Vudoo on Monday morning for...

    .308 Winchester

Anyone have a good starting point for using RL17 with 178 BTHPs and Norma brass? I’ve seen a few older posts with some numbers but was wondering if anyone has anything more recent. My range maxes out at 300 yards so I’m not looking for a ton of speed. I was thinking about starting at 44 gr and...

Thumb Rest for a Right-Handed AI AX Being Shot Lefty?

Thanks - I just saw your YouTube video on the AO chassis and watched the part where you pulled the trigger before debonding the action. It’s way more simple than I had anticipated. Thanks for your help! ETA: got the thumb rest installed with no issues in about 5 mins after getting the trigger...

Thumb Rest for a Right-Handed AI AX Being Shot Lefty?

Understood and thanks! I’ll have to look up how to remove the trigger pack since I’ve never done that before. ETA: I just realized that removing the trigger pack looks a lot easier than a Rem700 trigger swap

Thumb Rest for a Right-Handed AI AX Being Shot Lefty?

Question for you @samb300. I’m guessing the left hand AT thumb rest won’t work on a right hand action unless I can get get this “locking point” off of the chassis? I got the AX versions attached no problem and then noticed this was in the way when I started working on the AT thumb rest...

Thumb Rest for a Right-Handed AI AX Being Shot Lefty?

In hindsight, I kind of wish that I went with a left hand action as well

Thumb Rest for a Right-Handed AI AX Being Shot Lefty?

That’s good news - thanks for letting me know! Would the same apply to the AX AICS chassis? I’ve got the same issue on my Vudoo

Thumb Rest for a Right-Handed AI AX Being Shot Lefty?

Can anyone suggest a thumb rest idea for a right-handed AI AX being shot by a lefty? As hard as I’ve tried, I just can’t get comfortable shooting right-handed with my left eye dominance, so I’m trying to figure out a thumb rest that’ll let me shoot my RH rifle lefty and have a place to rest my...

Seeking guidance: Shooting with Prescription Glasses

This is probably the best advice so far. I have progressive lens and is almost exactly what I do as well. I’ll use contacts and safety glasses when I shoot reloads “just in case” but with factory rounds I’ll use my regular glasses and it works just fine

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

I do actually have a bore scope and not sure why it didn’t occur to me to take a look at the chamber. I’ll try that tomorrow and see what it looks like in there.

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

Someone yesterday at the range had mentioned the possibility of a dirty chamber/barrel possibly causing the issue but it was cleaned after my last trip so it was pretty spotless when the problem started yesterday. The only thing that I haven’t done is really scrub the chamber since the overall...

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

Thanks - I actually did try to reach out to MIle High on Saturday afternoon but they must of been busy since I couldn’t reach anyone. I was going to try again tomorrow to see what they say ETA: I’m also going to try and reach out to Prime too

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

    A) Prime says 3051 fps B) Hornady says 2960 fps C) Federal says 3000 fps To be honest, I’ve never had the chance to chronograph any of these with this barrel so those numbers are strictly from the box.

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

Are there instructions on how do this in case I go that route? I did some internet searching and couldn't find anything. I took the rifle back out this morning with my .308 barrel and some 168 FGMM and the primer strikes on all 40 rounds looked perfectly normal. I'm thinking that I may want to...

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

This is a 2018 model so it would have the small pin. I actually just measured my pin to be certain and it’s the SFP. However, maybe I still may need to bush it depending if I notice that it’s doing the same thing with other calibers/brands. I can’t say for certain that this wasn’t happening with...
