    16-18 inch shorty rifles

Here is my contribution to shorty .308s. Sure a bit of a rare build, as most Blaser guys are probably a bit old school and "as comes from the factory":-) Presented some more details here in the Blaser SBR thread: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/anybody-sbr-a-blaser.7077973/post-9991422

    Anybody sbr a blaser?

Hi All, Here is the final “report” on my Blaser R8 SBR build. The R8 with its exceptionally short system makes a great base for a suppressed SBR. The goal was a very compact hunting rifle, good for 50-300 yards, small to medium game. Blaser is only offering a 18" barrel in the thin 17mm...

DIY Lead weights for KRG Bravo

Thanks guys, I used to have a machine shop with everything to wish for and would have probably gone for a perfect mold back then too. Now I have no workshop and have to get a bit more creative for good solutions and I am happy to share them. I would think this method would work with most...

DIY Lead weights for KRG Bravo

Hi Guys, I went a little bit of an easy way, although it is not filling the last bit, it is still putting a lot of lead into the stock. I just got fine lead shot and mixed it with black silicone in a freezer bag. It requires little silicone to get a good sticky mix. Then stuffed the mixture into...

    Anybody sbr a blaser?

Hi All, I also thought the R8 with its exceptionally short system would make a great base for a suppressed SBR. The goal would be a very compact hunting rifle, good for 50-300 yards, small to medium game. Blaser is only offering a 16.5" barrel in the thin 17mm contour, whith is thin for my...

    3D printed gun parts

Hey all, having a 3D printer is cheap and fun nowadays. As a gun guy the idea of printing some functional or fun parts for your gun comes quickly. The throw levers are working great and especially in Europe, these are usually not available for most scopes. Some of the parts are more for the...

    Adding weigth to a stock/chassis

Dear all, my KRG Bravo stock/chassis is very nice and light, which would make it even good for hunting. As it is my dedicated PRS rifle though, i wanted to add some weight. I found a suitable way to put some weight into stock cavities. Mixing 1mm lead shot with silicone or epoxy in a freeze...

DIY thumb rest on a factory savage accustock.

Hi John, I have not done this myself but made some custom fit grips on rifles. I would consider epoxy with proper filling material to be suited. Maybe you drill 2 screws into the stock first to have a more stable base to model the epoxy on. If you want to have it comparebly small JB Weld steel...

    Bolt knob

Hi Guys, Latest project was made half on a lathe half with a lot of filing by hand... My Tikka got a bolthandle in the style of my Anschuetz 22.

    Diy cheekrest

Hi Guys, I have made a littel cheekrest for my Anschuetz 22. Heat-formed it directly to the stock, then covered it in smooth leather. It is made of acrylglass as it is stiffer than cydex. I glued a piece of foam inside to adjust the elevation. Works well for about a year now.

    Turret "stickers"

Hi Guys, I have made some stickers with GIMP2 and printed them with a laser printer on sticking paper. Then I put one layer of cleas tape on top. It was a bit of a heck to scale it correctly on the printer. The uneven hight of the lines helps a lot in differenciating between them.

    DIY Shooting bags

Hi GuNinja, I was not using the bag very much as the gamechanger is still a more versatile bag. A fixed bag is not so well for threading through holes. During training, though I found the bag too wobbly. So either one needs to have a longer arca attachment with 2 rivets or the bag needs...

    DIY Shooting bags

Hi Guys, did a little experiment today and will try it in the match this weekend. Medium sized front bag with non slip (silicone) on one side and an arca rail adapter on the other. Lets see how good it works. It is medium heavy fill but I could imagine that a super light fill could be good for a...

    DIY Shooting bags

I have an old German Pfaff machine but nothing extaordinarily strong. When sewing cordura 1000 in 2-3 layers I can easily work it. For more layers, velcro and thick straps I work slowly and with a bit of feeling for the right speed. But in general, working slowly generates nicer lines and as we...

    DIY Shooting bags

I have made some shooting bags, too. Base material is multicam cordura 1000 and I experimented a bit with a bunch of accessory cords. The big one and one of the medium ones are filled with super light styrofoam balls of about 0,05". The others are filled with PE granules of about 0,15". The...
