Back to the question at hand, you can use both fine. I have both a Harris and an Atlas on two different rifles. The Harris is faster to deploy as some said but not as versatile. Being able to run the legs at a 45 degree angle sometimes is nice on the Atlas. Also, with the way the legs are made...
You can hit the mile with a lot of things, 6.5C being one of them. It depends on a few things, Do you have enough elevation in your scope to even dial it. If not do you then have enough on the reticle to hold the rest of it. How many rounds do you want to spend on trying it? Ive hit an 18" plate...
It has a lot of stuff in it for sure. I'm still learning myself, just happen to listen to that very one this morning though. So i got lucky with your question haha.
I just did listen to Frank on the everyday sniper podcast no bs bc part 1 on May st discuss this with Bryan Litz and Emil Praslick. Bryans thoughts were you shouldn't adjust fps until you fall to 1500 fps and then true from there. Other wise your just chasing things. Just food for thought.
I have a CMMG 224V and had issues with Hornady cycling also. I chronoed them running at 2880 out of a 24" barrel so they seem pretty hot. The federals always run fine though.
There are plenty of Kydex ones that you can through bolt on the stock and move it up and down. I think i paid $10 or $15 for one. just keep an allen wrench in the range bag. I got mine on ebay, made by someone in columbus ohio in his garage.
I have one with their 24" barrel and its not bad. A bit finicky on ammo though. It hates the Hornady 88 grain and the American Eagle 75 grain. With the 90 grain Federals i shoot just under 1 moa at 100 yards. I used it at the bushnell sniper challenge this year and if i could actually find a...
I never ran a chrono with them but the prime was a .4 mils low at 500 yards vs the fgmm and .1.1 mils at 900. I dont always have access to the magnetospeed but my AB calculator shows to hit with my elevations the federal is runnin 2710 and the prime 2550.
The prime has been pretty slow in comparison to FGMM in my experience. Its accurate, but slow. Regarding the 600 yard wall the 168s some have talked about, i havent had that happen to me. More around 800 yards or so. But my barrel seems to be a fairly fast barrel. Fgmm 168 are running 2750 out...
I haven't seen any info about times yet. I just found out its 100-150 pistol rounds each, and 200 rifle for each shooter. Joe Burdick has set up a face book. group called Hold Center for information but there hasn't been a ton of it. I was going to wait another day or so and then pose the...
Don't worry man, me and my son in law will be right there with you. I have only shot 3 matches with my 308 which he will be using and i have a Valkyrie gas gun thats new to me. And my partner has been shooting for a short time. Granted we've got a range to 1000 but still....Your not going to be...
I have had a Vortex PST and an Athlon Argos BTR, both 6-24. Sold the Vortex and getting ready to sell the athlon. The PST was "OK". There was nothing really wrong with it other than what i had was MOA. But it didn't stand out for anything either. The Athlon has the worst zero stop,It has to be...
Me and my son in law are doing the Bushnell sniper challenge in KY in Feb. I already have a Tarahumara and it would attach right to a Ute or Umalindi for some added space. I really like the harness and was hoping they would work well.
