Regarding barrel life.....I have 5,000+ rounds of 308 through my T3X TAC A1 tube without any issues! I have been pushing my 175gr SMK hand loads @ 2,750 fps without issue and recording sub 1/2 MOA groups. The action is smooth as glass. +1 for the Tikka T3X TAC A1

+1 for Possum Hollow Just call his phone # listed on his website and he will eventually pick up. He will custom make a bore guide to whatever length you want for your particular rifle and caliber. As someone mentioned earlier, have him mill out a hole for solvent so the guide is 1 piece.

I have looked into it but the price is cost prohibitive. $25/hour? That's a bit steep! Not sure what is in Roanoke. Match? Range? I did not see a match in the Border War series located in Roanoke.

Yes....removing the factory 0 MOA rail is a PITA but very possible. Yes....there will be a "step" between the 20 MOA and the forend rail. I personally have removed the factory rail and installed a custom made 20 MOA rail with positive results. The pic shows the "step" between the rail and forend.
