Thank you so much for putting that file together. I just installed GRT (I've been using QL) and cant for the life of me figure out how to upload this file. Would you mind providing some hints? Thanks!
Was thinking the same thing. It likely has something to do with the powder we use in our 300BLK subs (which needs to cycle all types of actions) is much louder than what we use in our 308 Subs. Couple that with the extra 4-5" of barrel on Ray's rifle in video..
After most of the day testing with 300BLK subs we had only had time to test a few cans with supersonic 308WIN 175gr FGMM out of our 16" Ruger Scout test rifle. Due to the time constraint we gave manufacturers present at the metering day the chance to meter one can only with the 308 supers. The...
We didn't use any 308 subs for this testing. They are much quieter than our 300BLK subs because we're able to use a much faster burning powder for our 308 Subs
On June 8, 2019 Discreet Ballistics decided to spend a perfect 75 degree New Hampshire Saturday taking a look at one of the more important of these factors. We measured the sound reduction of 36 silencers all shooting our 300BLK subsonic ammunition and 7 of these 36 were shot with supersonic...
FYI PopStop patent was issued a few days ago. We're continuing to gather data related to the increased muzzle velocity and decreased velocity SD findings.
More data this time using one of our test guns (18" savage action in chassis w/ Q Full Nelson silencer) with our commercial 308Win subsonic in Lapua brass from same sleeve/lot # etc. Magnetospeed V3 chrono At least from this small sample it appears that a single injection of CO2 before the...
I like the concept of tapered barrels but I run Q's tapered DT silencers on regular barrels and Q Barrels (Honey Badger) and Sig Barrels without any issue
I run both the Half Nelson and the Full Nelson all the time on untapered barrels and have had no issues. I pretty sure they were designed for problem free operation as 99% of threaded barrels out there are not tapered. Interestingly Q makes a taper adaptor for their barrels so that non-tapered...
It has a similar effect. However, we've found that the atmosphere is best purged with CO2 from behind the can with a round chambered - directly into the blast baffle and out the end cap. Also, not a great idea to stick something in the can with a round chambered.
Very helpful, thank you. You are reading the results correctly. It would appear from this data, velocity deviation is reduced as a result of creating a relatively pure and consistent CO2 atmosphere in the can which is accomplished by purging before every shot is taken. However, just as the...
It works very well at completely eliminating FRP that's especially present with larger volume cans. Thanks for your comment about not running it in a match. Could you please elaborate on this? Thanks!
Got some results back today from a a former SF sniper we sent a 5/8-24 PopStop to for evaluation. For those unfamiliar, the PopStop was conceived as a method for eliminating First Round Pop and First Round Flash. The device itself is a machined titanium interface between muzzle and silencer with...
Here's a pic of the expanded subsonic projectile we're working on for the 8.6 Creedmoor. It's pretty close to the 30cal pill we currently offer for 300BLK subsonic. This prototype is 280 grains and expanded at around 800fps.
