    Howa 1500 Barreled Action - 6.5 Creedmoor - 24 Inch - Heavy #6 - Threaded

I couldn't help it. Brownells dropped the price of the Howa barreled action to $387. Since I've already got the original stock and Howa furniture from the .308 I moved to an MDT LSS, my resistance was next to nothing. My logic was, here's this...

    SightMark Citadel 5-30x56 LR2 Riflescope SM13040LR2: a running review

I just received one of the latest SightMark entries into the FFP tactical rifle scope arena, the Citadel 5-30x56. Over the next few weeks, I will be posting to this thread as a running review. I'm writing an early stub to give other shooters a chance...

Rifle Scopes SightMark Citadel 5-30x56 LR2 Riflescope SM13040LR2: a running review

That really doesn't sound right. Elevation 3.4 MILs Down 9.7 MILs Up At zero to zero rotation is 6 MILs. If the reticle was center at zero, there should be 6 MILS at scope height above the bore line with a 0 MOA rail. With a 20 MOA rail, at 100 yards, that would be 20 inches of down reticle...

6.5mm Creedmoor - Small vs Large Primer - Charge Difference?

That's my plan. I'm tempted to get a batch of Starline large rifle primer cases for 6.5 Creedmoor and do a side-by-side comparison. If I do, I'll post it here.

6.5mm Creedmoor - Small vs Large Primer - Charge Difference?

Thanks for that. I will, always do. I was planning to work on the moderate side of powder charge anyway. Got to make this factory barrel last as long as possible. What I did gather from reading is that a magnum primer is not necessary, thank goodness. Don't have any. This is further mitigated...

6.5mm Creedmoor - Small vs Large Primer - Charge Difference?

Thanks. I found the test of small magnum vs. large standard. Interesting. There's no mention of change in powder or charge size, so I imagine I'm good to go with the recommended tables on my V-N550 and IMR4350. Thanks.

6.5mm Creedmoor - Small vs Large Primer - Charge Difference?

I did a search of the forum first, but didn't find an answer. I ordered some 6.5 Creedmoor brass that takes a small rifle primer. I've always used large rifle primers in med to large rifle cases before. Any advice on regular vs. magnum, or percentage over under the recommended powder charge?

    MPA Chassis and MDT mags

I think after my last trip to the range, I figured out why I would sometimes have feeding problems with the first round up in my .308 MDT polymer magazines (10 round) in my MDT LSS chassis. Being of the AR shooting tribe, I have a habit of slamming magazines home. Bad idea with the MDT polymer...

If you don't want to chop and thread, LegacySports has an actual metal bolt on: https://www.legacysports.com/catalog/howa/bolt-knob/

Suppressors What powder or type of powder causes the least amount of fouling

Roger that with the cartridge. Add to that length of barrel, the primer, and bullet weight. Granted, I've seen some powders smoke like a tire fire in my 24", compressed charge, heavy bullet. Turn it around in a 20", moderate charge and lighter bullet, and the fouling diminishes greatly. But...

Suppressors What powder or type of powder causes the least amount of fouling

My experience has shown Vihtavuori pretty much lives up to its reputation as clean burning. I've had great experience with N135 and N140 in my M40 .308.

    MPA Chassis and MDT mags

Josh; I decided to test out my MDT polymer .308 magazines at home since the Howa 3 position safety allows for bolt operation. While pointing the rifle rest at a thick concrete wall, I cycled through all ten of my magazines with no problems. I even watched the close-up movie I made with my cell...

    Possible to zero with magnetospeed?

I second the advice from redneckbmxer24 regarding barrel mounting. I can never get mine tight enough to avoid POI shift. Better to eliminate all variables when going for accuracy.

    Gunsmithing Affordable Borescope/Fiberscope

I am really glad to hear that. I have been trying to make do with one of those cheap USB things. The ones that fit down the bore are too dim and the bright ones can only show the chamber and a bit of the throat, plus low resolution and too long in focus distance. At around $200, the Lyman...

    MPA Chassis and MDT mags

Let me get back to the range next week and go through all the mags in a more scientific process. I've got ten of them, so I need to better isolate the problem. I really would like to set up my phone to get video of the event anyway. Once I've got more data, I can be more helpful in...

    Howa 1500 Barreled Action - 6.5 Creedmoor - 24 Inch - Heavy #6 - Threaded

I'm sure at some point in the near future Pac-Nor and most of the rest will offer a truly DIY barrel for Howa. Luckily, I won't be needed one for a little while and the future looks good. Thanks for the update.
