Re: 700P or 5R I wouldn't let the stock be the determining factor. I traded my 5R stock off for the LTR stock (+$$$) which had a better feel to me.

When I got my 5R a few years ago, I considered cutting it to 20" to match the LTR. Instead, it was fluted and ported. Today, I learned that Remington makes 5Rs in other than .308, and that they have a 20" threaded version... cool! http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=231263813

Re: Keltec RFB Opinions I don't have any experience with it, but do own a SU-16CA for a specific purpose. My impressions of KT products, including the RFB are that they look to be on the flimsy side. I have handled and am watching with interest this drop-in stock's developement...

Re: Smith enterprises M1a I have stopped by when in town for shows and have purchased comps for M14s and flash suppressors for Rem 700s. Very nice to deal with and top quality gear.

Maybe my mind is foggy today, but gotta ask... is there any advantage of having the LTR in .223 as opposed to a larger caliber? Is there anything that caliber can do that the .30 cannot do? Attempting to thin the herd...got both and can't think of a reason to keep the .223.

Re: Watches ?? I've had a couple of Casio tri-sensors - worked great til the battery ran down. Never worked the same after battery replacement. Digi compass works good with GPS in field. Watches don't last too long with me, these Casios are a good investment for the time they last.

Re: Insuring firearms I also suffered a loss of 3 rifles without the rider. My insurance company paid out a limit of $2k on the firearms, but actually reimbursed me beyond that for the Assault Systems cases they were in. That was a nice touch... still didn't make up for the Galil and others...
