I have a Pular scanner and it has the option to be "real time" scanning. So filling a coyote can give you instant feedback for distance.

The bolt has a nice picture for sure.

I have a scanner with the LRF in it. Seems you spend more time on the scanner than the scope so it served like the way to go. Everyone's situation is different.

Just an option. I have a Bolt V1 new in box I would let go at a good price.

The image quality is better. The display is HUGE on the Bolt. I'm in California so a traditional rifle scope package type thermal works better on a bolt gun. Again...everyone has their own opinion on equipment. I was not happy with the Steiner.

I got a 640 pulsar handheld with rangefinder for scanning and a iRay Bolt TH50 for the rifle. The rifle scope is much more useful for me than the S35 was. YMMV

I have no imput on unreleased products but have a Burris scanner and did have a Steiner S35 briefly. For the money, the scanner works well. I use it for a loaner or let whoever is accompaning me hunting use it so they are literally not just sitting in the dark. The S35 was a letdown. But to...

From my limited time owning one, your phone has to be REALLY close to the unit at all times. The range on mine sucked. I wanted my fiancee to be able to watch the action, and she was seated about 5' from me and it would drop all the time. YMMV
