    Army M24 Build Thread

Spotted these on Ebay this week too - will be buying one if they still have stock - been a "spendy" few days SWMBO best not find out. Keep having to NOT use the phrase "new sniper rifle" while on the phone to shooting mates who know I've made the purchase

It was in the chassis when I bought it. Aside from the Proof House, it's unfired, as I was working out scope options for it.

I have the Rem 700 Police/PSS model in .338, fitted in the same stock as the Poyer book photo. (By "mine" I was referring to the 338 Remington I own, not an M24 338, sadly!) The difference may be the barrel length, but otherwise it looks to be the same (but no "US" markings)

    Army M24 Build Thread

Thanks for posting that - some great information As the 338 had an M24 designation I was under the impression that that was an "official" naming once it was in the system, not something from the Remington marketing department. Mine already has that AICS stock so just need to source the 20MOA...

Thanks I was wondering if some units may have chosen the 338 as an alternative to the .50-cal that I've seen issued

    Army M24 Build Thread

Good to know, as my limited research was not providing a lot of data on examples in use. I'll no doubt do what research into the A3 that I can; then add the parts I need to make a decent A3 clone, to the list of what I am missing from the 7.62 M24... Would I be right in thinking that the...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Yes - and a good companion to my other Remington sniper rifle, an M1903A4 from the first production run in WW2. Had that one for about 25 years now, a nice rig. Looks like I may be cloning an M24A3 to make it "triplets", as I have an unused Rem 700 in .338 Lap Mag which could use as donor

Forgotten history, US army's largest and deadliest battle.

One of my Great Uncles was killed in 1914 His brother served in France from 1915-1918, aside from a small paid excursion for several weeks when he was fighting the Turks in Gallipoli in 1915 He talked about the war a lot when I was young. Always said that the Gurkhas were the best soldiers he...

Need to read through this thread a few times to brush up on my M24 knowledge. Had a spell away from the site after the move to the new server some time ago, plus I've had a couple of house moves to deal with, so busy busy... The good news, an M24 followed me home, so need to check what to start...

Hunting & Fishing What do you think of the Snugpak brand???

SnugPak is a great firm, they have a HUGE following with folk in the UK military, as well as UK police forces, cadets, etc. Never seen a piece of Snugpak kit that I'd not have been proud to own & use.
