Effect on precision by chopping down and threading muzzle on known shooter

I have a Savage 12LRP in 6.5 Creed with the full length 1" thick bull barrel (26" bbl). It's my best shooting rifle, putting 5rds in less than 1/2" more often than not. But it is heavy and doesn't have a threaded muzzle. I don't really enjoy shooting unsuppressed anymore, so I want to make it...

Rifle Scopes Anyone ever tried a Burris Eliminator in a long range tactical match?

I've never owned or used one, but it would seem like it could really be useful in a 'long range precision'-type match if it works as advertised.

Anyone have pics of the bedding area of McRees and XLR Element chassis?

I'm trying to make my final decision between an XLR Element and a McRees G5 for my Savage, but I'd like to see what the 'innards' look like first. Anyone have pics of the inside of either chassis? I can't find anything really with a Google image search. Thanks.

    Giraud trimmer question

Are the 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5x47 Lapua cases similar enough that I could get just one case holder (and one cutter/blade assembly) and trim both cartridges (obviously adjusting case holder depth as needed)?

Could a .260 Lee Collet die be used on 6.5CM?

Is the 6.5 Creedmoor case close enough to the 260 Rem that a Lee Collet die for the 260 could be used to size the necks on a Creed?

Why doesn't Forster make dies for 6.5 Creedmoor?

Out of all my centerfire rifle die sets, my Forsters are my favorites. So imagine my dismay when, after getting my first 6.5 CM rifle, I go to order some dies and discover that Forster doesn't make them in my favorite new caliber! Does anyone have the inside skinny? I sent them an email...

So the Heat and the Spurs are in the Finals. Any predictions? We all know the NBA is rigged, but what says you?

Savage 260 or 6.5 Creed barrels in stock

I haven't had any luck finding any quality aftermarket barrels for a Savage in 260 Rem or 6.5 Creedmoor. The original 308 bbl on it has seen better days. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Do any of you have the skinny on where I can find one without waiting for months on end? Thanks!

    Gunsmithing Nevermind

Thanks Gaslight and Kevlars. It came out fairly easily with mineral spirits and a q tip.

    Pierce Engineering DBM anyone?

Does anyone have the Pierce DBM? I never hear it mentioned. Mostly everyone talks about CDI and Badger. Any opinions on the Pierce?

    Kroc row?

What's the difference between a one-arm dumbbell row and a kroc row? Everyone seems to be calling what I've called a dumbbell row since 1989 a "kroc" row. What gives?

Gunsmithing Best thread-on brake without 'smithing and timing?

I have a 20" 308 with the muzzle threaded 5/8x24 (.625"). I normally use a Vortex flash hider for low light use. For comps, I want to use a muzzle brake, but the ones I've seen need to be timed to get the baffles/ports in the right orientation. Is there a muzzle brake that I can just thread...

Gunsmithing Inletting B&C Medalist for Savage DBM bottom metal

I have a circa-2003 Savage 10FP Accutrigger with the stagger-feed blind magazine. How tough would it be to inlet the stock for the DBM bottom metal so I can do a z71rat 10rd mag kit conversion? Any leads on gunsmiths that do this for a reasonable cost? Thanks!

    155gr or 168gr Nosler CCs?

I'm low on .308 projos and have a VERY limited gun budget. I was planning on ordering 1,000 Nosler Custom Competitions, and I have a little over $200 to spend. I'll be shooting them out of two factory sticks: a 24" Savage (1 in 10) and a 20" Rem SPS Tact (1 in 12). My main two criteria for...
