Re: Ole timer ? on P&W lathes A gunsmith by the name of Doan Trevor uses a P&W for the long range competition rifles he builds. He's a hell of a stock maker too! The palma rifle he built me is an outstanding sample of his work. Mark
Re: Pacific Tool and Gauge Bottom Metal I used one in my M70 Post64 that SAC built for me. The fit and finish of the PTG bottom metal was outstanding. http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2424329#Post2424329 Mark
Re: Interesting Match Garand VS As Issued Garand I find that a lot of accomplished (master or high master) high power rifle competitors participate in Issued class due to the added challenge.
Re: Recommendation for air pistol I really like the Beeman P1. It has the same grip dimensions of a 1911 which has a lot of advantages if that's what you shoot. I also have the Baikal and it is very nice.
Re: Krieger Offering 5R Rifling I think performance wise they're pretty much neck and neck. In my opinion 5R barrels clean easier then traditional rifling but that doesn't have anything do with performance. The accuracy comes in the rifling process in which excellent barrels can be made with...

Re: Gunsmith Recommendations? Mark at SAC built my M70 .308 rifle earlier this year and his attention to detail is amazing. I'll put that rifle against anything out there.
Re: Short Action Customs: Out of shop Sept. 1-15th Congrats Mark...glad someone else is joining the fray. It's not really all that bad. All the best to you and your bride.
Re: Brown Safe - Commercial Weapon Vault I have a Brown safe that I bought from a friend. It's about 20 years old and not fire lined but very well built. You will not be disappointed.
Re: Short Action Customs I can't say enough good things about SAC. Mark does some AWESOME work and is an excellent communicator. Wait a second...actually he's really a hack. If I were all of you I would send your work to someone else. There, maybe I...
Re: How many of you "actually" shoot 500yds+ often? On a 5 year average about 1-2 times a month. I cut my teeth on NRA Highpower in which I shot 2-3 times a month on a 600 yard course. Now it's precision rifle with plates out to 890 yards. Wind reading is wind reading, no matter if it's irons...
Re: bottom metal sa Win 70 For my M70 build I initially ordered the Williams one-piece. It was back-ordered for 8 months and after several ship dates got reset I finally cancelled my order. I ended up with a Pacific Tool & Gauge one-piece. I had it in the hands of Mark Gordon of SAC within a...
Re: My experience with Joe Bob Outfitters Joseph has excellent customer service. He was very up front with me about the CZ 452 bases being out of stock and expected delivery times. I ended up with a USO base from a friend in the meantime, but would never hesitate to do business with him in...
