2nd Annual Michigan Precision Rifle Challenge 2 slots left.

Thanks to Rich and crew for putting on a great match. The targets were small and the positions uncomfortable but nothing was impossible. The cof certainly tested you in new ways. Some creative barricades and good use of natural terrain. Well done! Prize table was awesome. Thanks to all the...

Problem with Timney 510 not firing

Typically on 510's they will have a protruding pin on the side that will rub and cause problems with the m5 bottom metal. Easy solution is a dremel or die grinder to relieve some slots in the area above the trigger in the bottom metal. Put some paint on the trigger pins down by the shoe and...

Thoughts on a custom build for a newb...

Great goals. How much rifle experience have you had? What is the farthest you have shot so far? Based on what I think the answers will be I would have to say a magnum anything would be a bad idea. If you really want to learn to shoot at distance be prepared to not do it with gear/caliber but...

    Rifle Scopes Premier 5-25 MTC

Just as an FYI. If you remove the turret cap (just unscrew the toggle all the way and pull the cap off) you can see the mechanism that controls the clicks for both MTC and normal. Modify as needed to suit your needs. Pic is of underside of cap, the heavier lines are where the MTC part of the...

Max published load for H4350 in .260 Rem (139 Scenar)?

43 gr of H4350, Lapua brass and 142 smks was a good load for both of my 26" Bartleins. The first one was about 2825 for velocity, not sure on the second yet. Seems that 2775-2820 is a good spot for the 260 when using 140 grain class bullets. Oal on both were 2.815 or so which was about .010 off...

    Custom 50BMG actions available

I think the last time I called McMillan they didn't have an inlet for the AR50. Doesn't mean they can't do it. I think you just have to send them a receiver so they can write an inlet program for it. Manners also makes a 50 stock that should accommodate the action. Give them both a call and see...

SAC or GAP -- About to order a new Build.

I vote for SAC. I have one and am building another. Attention to detail is great and accuracy has been outstanding. With that said GA also builds fine rifles too.

    Magnetospeed and Armalite .50 cal

I have the same problem. Looking for ideas too. I'm assuming you tried it already and the magneto wasn't damaged by the blast. It simply didn't read due to the bayonet pickup being in the wrong spot?

    ASC Spring 2014

Thanks to Rod, John, Brock and others for putting on another great match. I had a great time. Was wondering if people could post up calibers and shooting finish order. Wondering if a bigger gun is in order for next time. 9th place was a 260 with a 142 smk @ 2775.

Any Winchester brand 243 brass in stock?

http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-px-commercial-sales/238429-%2A%2Anew-243-winchester-brass%2A%2A-50-per-bag-%2428-00-a.html Just picked up some the other day from Southwest. Might check with them to see if they have any left.

    260 Imp 30 velocity gains?

I think the wisdom still applies. HH is getting 2940 with a 28" tube. I was at 2825 with a standard 260 and 26" barrel. Brass growth should be less with the sharp shoulder but I would hazard a guess that most of us lose the brass before its worn out. What interests me the most is reports of 3000...

    260 Imp 30 velocity gains?

Just wondering if anyone here has played with the 260 imp 30. I have a new build coming up and need to decide on a chambering. I have been running a straight 260 with 142's @ 2800-2825, oal 2.830, 26" bartlein. I really want to try to get up to 2900+. I will be switching to AW mags so oal will...

Aftermarket cover for bushnell excursion 15x45 spotter

The triad cover will fit on the bushy. It won't be perfect but it will fit. I tried in on my Excursion before I sold it.

Leupold Mk4 40x spotter VS. USO Spotter

You can't go wrong with a MK 4. I had a Bushy excursion with the mildot and upgraded to a Leupy with the Horus and it was a major step up. Have even compared it side by side with a Spotter 45/60 (which was better) but it held its own. For the price I can't think of a better option.

Zeiss PRF will not work in light fog!

Just for the record both the plrf05 and 15c sometimes get confused with the fog or rain as well. Normally both will range out to visible sight but if the fog is thick you can ping a target that you know is there but you will just get a reading off of the fog. So just spending more money is not...

Michigan 1st annual Precision Rifle Steel Challenge UPDATE FULL ROSTER

Just wanted to say great job to Rich, Derek, and the gang at BWSC. I appreciate all the sponsors stepping up for a new match with some excellent prizes. I certainly didn't expect the excellent prize table that was there. Hopefully, this can be at least a yearly match. Rich has some excellent...

Advanced Marksmanship Need some help with my dope.

To see what atmos conditions have to do with things start using just one number--DA(density altitude). This will help get a measure of what the air is like relative to standard conditions. I'm not sure shooter can use this but if it can it will save some work of entering in all the variables...

    2013 TVP TEAM SNIPER MATCH JUNE 1st & 2nd

Thanks everyone for a great day and to Tom and Wade and our RO's for a well run and thought out match. It was good to see everyone again. Shooting at TVP is always a pleasure and best of all it didn't rain! I was wind test dummy all day and John was able to make good hits so the strategy seemed...
