Thoughts on this SWFA combo for a 3 gun style setup?

First and foremost your statements are certainly welcomed, but with that said please understand that they are purely subjective in nature... Common sense says that what one values in a build others may not and that's just nature of the beast. It's my opinion that you both may be over thinking...

    Buyer/Seller's beware Houston Armory

I first met these guys at the SAL Shoot in Dallas (4/28/11) and wasn't impressed at all with them or their arrogant attitudes; thus I never did any business with them... I did see 3 of them (won't mention names) walking around at Shot Show this year acting like they typically do; dressed head to...

Suppressors Is its crazy idea to purchase a 50BMG suppressor for use on a 338LM?

The .500 Whisper is subsonic wildcat developed by SSK Industries that uses the .460 Weatherby Magnum as a parent case cut down to 1.885" with the neck turned down to 0.013"... Using H110, 4227 or even surplus WC820 powder you can launch a 750gr A-Max subsonically and it packs some silly...

Suppressors Is its crazy idea to purchase a 50BMG suppressor for use on a 338LM?

Based on my personal experience, I thought suppressing a 50 BMG is a little overrated... Previously I bought an AWC Turbodyne to use on my EDM Windrunner M96. The only true benefit I felt worthwhile was the significant reduction in recoil, but it was NOT hearing safe. It was in the 140-145...

    Suppressors Selling an SBR

Only 2 stamps would be required: seller to dealer in sellers state (form 4 to form 3) requires a stamp; dealer to dealer interstate (form 3 to form 3) is free and dealer to buyer in buyers state (form 3 to form 4) requires a stamp... Sometimes selling items in the state where it's on a form 4...

Suppressors Is there a joined effort to comment on the proposed rule changes?

The only benefit with the trust for me was the ability to circumvent the CLEO signature... The previous police chief in our small town wouldn't sign for anyone. He retired a few years ago and from what I understand the new chief will sign. I'm going to have to disagree with you on that...

Suppressors Is there a joined effort to comment on the proposed rule changes?

I've sent it to my attorney for review... In my current trust obviously I am the grantor, but I have designated other trustees which would all be subject to the new background check... Not that any of my trustees won't pass the background check; I just thinking that multiple background checks...

Suppressors Best Integral MkII, Quiet and Ability to Take Apart and Clean a Must.

I bought an Amphibian back in 2002 and had nothing but issues with it... From day one it was seemingly fraught with cycling issues no matter what ammo I shot; even when it was perfectly clean. Ultimately I ended up selling it becuase the reliability was so poor. A couple years ago I decided...

    Suppressors My Thunderbeast -- EXPLODED!!

QuickLoad shows a muzzle pressure over 19,000 psi when using the load information he provided… I'm interested in more information on the load, did you ever have any pressure signs during the first 75 loads??? I show that it would be a compressed load (110.2%) as well a chamber pressure well...

    Gunsmithing GAP-10 Cerakote

I recently purchased a 6mm Creedmoor GAP-10 upper that was originally Cerakoted FDE by GAP. Is it possible to remove the FDE cerakote from the upper & hand guard without damaging the original black anodize below? I've got 3 other GAP-10's and I want it to match its brethren... Any feedback will...

Since no one else answered I share my experiences... I have 3 GAP-10's (260, 308 & 338) and I haven't had a single issue with any of them. All of my rifles are treated as tools, far from safe queens... I shoot them all suppressed so needless to say they all stay dirty. As far as toughness goes...

The 11" X-Rail handguard is 10 oz lighter than the 11" mid length Sniper/Tac hand-guard... It was certainly worth it for me as the weight savings really helped balance out my 10" SBR. Just an FYI, before anyone runs out to buy an 11" X-Rail handguard, please make sure that your GAP-10 is...
