    Re: steel targets I picked up a 3/8 ar500 12x12 square off ebay for around 50 shipped. It's easily portable and in low wind at 700m (close to 800 yards?) it makes a hell of ping. 7.62x39 with steel insert only slightly deform it at 100 at SMKs out of a 300wsm only splash the paint.
