Night Vision Info on Zeiss Orion Z51 Fero Night Vision Military Scope

I have one I bought years ago. They actually work pretty well. Price is comparable to some of the digital scopes out there right now. With digital, you’re gonna get a clearer image but you MUST use a good IR illuminator. You can also use a digital device in areas where you are pointing toward...

Night Vision Simrad kn203 zeroing methods

3.75” is about 1 mil at 100m. At 200 it would be half that (~1.8 mil), at 400 it would be 1/4 of that (~.9 mil) etc. Easiest thing for me is to zero ~ 3.75” low at 100, use my normal dope and hold what looks to be about 4” high at any distance. No math involved and gets close enough for...

Night Vision PVS-30 on Desert Tech Covert

I put a Vudu 5-25x on mine specifically for running a pvs30. The rail clamp on the 30 will hang off the front of the handguard about 1/2” or so but it works fine. It still holds fine if I move it forward another 3/4” or so. That puts the rear recoil lug of the 30 in the forwardmost pic rail...

    Gunsmithing Devcon 10110 shelf life

If you keep it refrigerated it lasts a long time. I bedded a rifle a month ago with some devcon I first bought and opened probably about 9 years ago. I keep it in the refrigerator and use some once every year or so.

I’ll try some 175’s soon just to see what happens, but the issue is that we are issued FGMM 168’s, so that’s what I’m stuck with whether the gun will group with them or not. It would be more realistic for me to change guns/barrels than to switch to a different ammo. Also I did talk to someone...

I bought an A2 Covert 308 for LE duty use a couple months back. We shoot FGMM 168’s in addition to a bonded round. I’ve shot FGMM 168’s in at least 6 different rifles and it groups pretty well in all of them. Even another one with a 1:8 twist barrel. That said, I can’t get my Covert to group any...

    Krieger has an interesting point

That's more of a result of your barrel being clean and possibly having solvent residue inside than of the barrel temperature.

Not sure. I haven't fooled with it enough to see how much clearance would be needed, or how much thinner the t-nuts could be. If it only needed a couple thousandths, might be worth trying.

Anyone else with an A2 discovered that you can't remove the barrel with a top picatinny rail installed? The clamping area of the barrel hits the T-nuts that hold the rail on, because the top of the handguard is closer to the barrel than the other surfaces. This is an issue with the covert...

Rifle Scopes Try to figure this one out.

You need to do 2 things: 1) You say the reticle is clear regardless of parallax setting. Its possible you are straining your eye to bring it into focus. There is plenty of instruction out there on how to do this, but basically turn your parallax toward infinity until it stops. Look at the sky...
