    1903A3 6.5x55

Keep us notified, my gunsmith is builing mine as we speak. I went with the GI A3 rear sight and an SMLE Jungle Carbine front sight/flash hider/bayonet lug. Pretty excited, will order one or two more of these actions, really like the A3 action.

    Remington 700 ADL vs. Savage 111 (.30-06) or ..?

If buying factory, then yes, get a .308, but a 30-06 will have a bit more options for reloading, either will do good work.

What else to pay attention to

Oh ok, had a hope for one in a 1903A3 rifle. Thank you for the information.

Does anyone have expearence with shooting .270 win at long range?

The 30-06 will out perform the .308 easily when reloading. Do a search for MontanaMarine, he has written post after post about the 30-06. Also, check out the Rifleman's Journal writte. by German A. Salazar, he has won competitions with the old round. I am obviously a fan of the 30-06 in...

    Bolt Action with Iron Sights

A 1903A3 is in a 30-06, one of the most common calibers in America, if not the most in centerfire.

    Bolt Action with Iron Sights

He said "This would not be something I would really want to put a scope on." So no scope. Get any factory rifle that you like and have quality iron sights fitted. Most factory sights are crap, with a few Ruger and CZ models being the exceptions. Or go and buy a surplus rifle, they are made to...

Inexpensive stock options similar to Manners T2

Just think, will you use the magazine system to its price potential, meaning, the $300 dollars you pay for a DBM, plus extra mags, is it worth it. For instance, I would LOVE a USO ST-10 on my next year's rifle build, but I can do 95% of my shooting with a SS 10x42 or 10x42m. Doing this I will...

Inexpensive stock options similar to Manners T2

You'd be cheaper off not using a DBM, a standard HS or B&C, or heck a good laminate will be more cost efficient if you can just use the factory floorplate. Then you can subtract that additional cost and buy a take off PSS stock on here for about $250 or so.

Iron sight suggestions for my G.A. Precision Thunder Ranch?

Here is a link for the Gehmann 590 rear sight I spoke of. I don't know if it could do a picatinny rail, but I am sure you could call and see. Champion's Choice Here is a link to what your looking for...

Iron sight suggestions for my G.A. Precision Thunder Ranch?

Gerhman Economical Rear sight (olympic style that mounts on a rail) + a Lyman Model 93 mounted on an appropriate height dovetail. Done, no need to take off the scope base, just remove scope, attatch Gerhman and the front sight, and keep shooting!

    Idea - variable length barrels

What if you didn't rifle the "extensions", but make it a smoothbore. Accuracy would be minimal as we all know the accuracy from a short barrel is technically better than a longer barrel. The only problem I could see from this would be a tight gas seal, which could affect velocity. I'm sure a...

Rifle Scopes Leupold 6x42 or SS-6x

Call their custom shop, see if, for a price, of they can install what you need. Nice folks, I tried to get a "Turkey Plex" for their 2.5x 28 scout scope, but they couldn't do it. But it worth a shot to call and see. I wouldn't mind a solid fixed four power scope with those features mentioned...

Only one .308 Bolt Gun : Accuracy AT or Gladius for a 600 to 800y max.

DUMB QUESTION ALERT!!! Ok, I have never seen one anywhere on the internet, but does AI sell a long action bolt with a .473" bolt face? I really love a 30-06 and have a desire for one of these rifles. Like I said, stupid question, and I know its basically the same as a .308, and a hair smaller...

Help: Identify and appraise remington 700 match rifle(not tac/sniper).

He said its in .223. A 1-10" twist with 190s would be for a .30 caliber rifle.
