    I went and bought a Hornady bullet comparator, remeasured per above posts, and getting reasonable measurements. Consistently 2.895 COL so will start at 2.875 for my first reloads and work from there. I appreciate the assistance.

    Re: I want a .45 tactical compact...your thoughts Just another thing to make sure you are aware of. The full size tactical has the match trigger (which is great), but for the same money the compact does not. If you haven't shot the normal USP trigger, do so before buying. The reset is awful.
