New build project. Anybody got a feel on the shortest barrel length one could get by with, 1-8.5 twist and shooting primarily 140's. Will be shooting suppressed. Also has anybody played with a subsonic load for the creedmoor? Thanks in advance.

Re: place to buy magpul stocks? I just ordered a couple of PRS's stocks for varmint guns and putting together a couple M4s and decided to try the moe sets, never tried them, but we'll see. I have used the PRS stocks on several rifles and have one on a lr308 and a lr6.5 and really like them...
Re: Best Hunting Rifle On a very tight budget You should be able to pick up a used Remington 700 ADL for around the 300-350 mark. You can adjust the trigger yourself to a very nice pull, or leave it alone. Also with a few around the house items (dremel, JB weld)you can bed it and free float...
Re: A little help identifying a rifle. Ok, thats what I thought it looked like. The only reason I can think that anyone would do this is if the barrel was toast and they cut an inch off each end to get some accuracy back... Bottom line is, you said it shot super and you shot your best group...
Re: A little help identifying a rifle. Well, the barrel not having any markings on it is not unheard of, but not helpful to you. I can tell you by looking at the bolt face, that the action has definately not been trued up or "blueprinted" and as stated above, the brake being into the flutes...
