Sidearms & Scatterguns Help pick primary sidearm

I got a P30 LEM v4 years ago and converted it to the lightest trigger, the v1. It's different, but it's an excellent trigger and I get compliments when others shoot it. The v1 LEM is the one that Todd Green used back in the day and put over 90k rounds through in one season.

Building an MK12 1000 Yard Rifle

This is why I chambered my Mod 0 for .264 LBC. I don't know how it will do at 1k yet, but it does damn good at 750. If the bullet is sideways at 1k, at least it will make a bigger hole!

123 SMK vs 123 Nosler CC

I have no experience with the SMKs, but I've shot the Nosler CCs out to 750 many times and trust them. They group great. The gun is a MK12 Mod 0 chambered in .264 Lbc with an 18" barrel.

    Best digital scale?

Another vote for the Gempro 250. I have beam scales and digitals that work fine, but the Gempro is worth it.

    6.5 Grendel

Don't overlook Nosler 123 grain Custom Competitions. The Amax works well for me too, but I haven't tried the SMK. I've had excellent results with 8208xbr - I worked up in Alexander Arms (Lapua) brass with it and have settled on 28.3 grains for x1 or more brass, and 28.5 grains for new brass...

Is there something wrong with compressed loads?

As someone else posted, BIC pen tubes are your friend: As a powder trickler As a drop tube I do compressed loads occasionally as long as they're mildly compressed. Unless of course it's RL17, then I break out the cheater-bar to get those bullets down in there :)

    MK12 MOD-0 LETS SEE EM!

Re: MK12 MOD-0 LETS SEE EM! Mod 0 in .264 LBC: Barrel and upper are LBC, and ADCO turned the barrel down from 20" to 18" to accept the OPS brake and collar. The can will take awhile to get.

45gr Varget/175 SMK/LC Brass Too Hot for OBR??

Re: 45gr Varget/175 SMK/LC Brass Too Hot for OBR?? I've tried that load in a 20" Criterion barreled AR, with Winchester brass instead of LC, and it seemed hot to me at times. Primer pockets of new brass were often loose, but that's the only sign that things were too hot. Quickload says it's...

    .264 LBC

Re: .264 LBC Use the 6.5 Grendel dies; there is no difference between the two cartridges; only the chamber. From my understanding, the 264 LBC has a tighter neck in bolt action rifles, and the same neck in semi-autos. I use Hornady's dies in Grendel for my .264 LBC and haven't had any issues.

    Wrapping up my Mod 0

Re: Wrapping up my Mod 0 I picked up a used ARMS SPR PEQ2 rail here on the Hide earlier this year for a Mod0 build in .264 LBC. If you're not all that concerned with an exact clone, PRI makes an SPR rail now that's very similar to the ARMS rail -...

Re: Fixed Blade for Daily Carry Like this: The Izula comes with the kydex sheath, and I used a metal clip from a cheap no-name holster with some chicago screws from a Blackhawk holster and fastened it myself. I had to drill holes in the metal clip that lined up with the two slots on...

    Pressure signs from FGMM

Re: Pressure signs from FGMM Last year I had some 168 FGMM do the exact same thing to me, blowing half of the primers in the box. The brass was wrecked, too. It was the older white and blue box though; I tried the newer boxes and the pressure was fine. Shot like shit though, over about...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Keltec Pistols
