Re: 110 FCPHS 338 LM 300 Accubonds I ran some of the 300 accubonds through my Desert Tactical Arms SRS last week. Got several 3" groups @ 500 yds with 90.0grs of H-1000
Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread I just got mine a couple of weeks ago, SRS 338 Lapua. What a great rifle! Seems like every handload I try shoots around 1/2 MOA. The 285 Hornady's and 300 Nosler Accubond both stay under 1/2 MOA. Shot several 3"- 5 shot groups today @...
Re: Try unsupported prone. This is a pretty interesting sling, http://artoftherifle.blogspot.com/2012/12/introducing-riflecraft-rs1-sling.html, I've got one and it works great. Very well made. It's very quick to get into, with a little practice you can be looped up on the way down to prone...
Re: 308 SMK BTHP vs Amax what say ye? I get at least as good accuracy out of the AMAX and much better terminal performance on game. AMAX's are all I shoot out of the 308
Re: Sig 716 Accuracy I really like my 716, been shooting it for a couple of months. From an earlier thread that I posted on, "I was out shooting my 716 earlier in the week, shoots better than MOA out to 450 yards with my 168 gr AMAX hand loads. Best 5 shot group @ 450 measured 3 3/8". Other...
Re: Sig 716 I was out shooting my 716 earlier in the week, shoots better than MOA out to 450 yards with my 168 gr AMAX hand loads. Best 5 shot group @ 450 measured 3 3/8". Other than a trigger upgrade it's stock. I didn't buy it for a precision rifle but when I realized how well it shot...
Re: M1A vs Ar-10, am I too infatuated with the M1A? I'm an M1A nut, have a couple of LRB M-25's that shoot under an MOA. One in a bedded McMillan stock the other in a SAGE. I love shooting the LRB in the McMillan. Whether it's from a bipod, ruck or just a good tight sling that rifle rocks...
Re: 338 Win Mag or 375 Ruger? I have a 375 Ruger Alaskan model that I use while guiding brown bear hunters in Alaska. I use the 270 grain Fail-Safe bullets @ 2700fps out of the 20 inch barrel. This rifle load combo is awesome, flat shooting, hard hitting, reliable and handy. It doesn't seem...
I just got a sig 716 and it needs a trigger job. I think it's supposed to be a two stage, but it feels like just one long gritty pull, real hard to feel the second stage. What aftermarket trigger assembly would you guys suggest? I do like two stage triggers
Re: DTA 338 Lapua-complimentary caliber conversion???? I've shot 308 a lot, still have a couple of 308 semi's. Built a 300 SAUM on a Rem 700, really like it, great performance, costs just a little more to shoot than 308. I've had 2 338 Lapua's. Got interested in the cartridge first as a...
Re: DTA 338 Lapua-complimentary caliber conversion???? BigJoe, I know what you mean about the 308. I was planning on a 22" 308 bbl when I bought the rifle. Decided to hold off until I had the 338 dialed in
