Rifle Scopes Refill and seal scope with Nitrogen

Its a Wonder Optics Tactical 12x scope from the mid-2000s. They had QC issues (no shit right) and went tits up about 2010-2011ish. I had a 10x, 12x & 4-14x from them. Only one left that I can find is the 12x, no idea what happened to the other two. Ill hit up Iron Sight. Worth a shot. If it...

Rifle Scopes Refill and seal scope with Nitrogen

I have an older scope that has had all the nitrogen leak out of it and its become very cloudy. I like the scope and its got a good reticle with matching 0.1mil turrets so it would be great if I could keep it to put on a trainer rifle. Anyone know of a place that might be able to take it apart...

    Marine Corps Uniform

We call it a buffalo. Not sure exactly what its officially called and not everyone gets one but they are very comfortable. They are fleece on the inside and desert digital on the outside.

Gunsmithing Setting up AR barrel in lathe......

You never learn if you do not fail. Granted, failure costs money. Lotta good suggestions above, and I too have made extensions to thread onto 700 barrels < 20" to fit through my headstock and a slip over the barrel extension piece for AR barrels. Works great and lets me do as short a barrel as...

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake on small dia barrel

Another +1 for this option. For a barrel that thin Id index the brake on the muzzle not a shoulder. 0.035" of shoulder is not adequate in my eyes plus that makes the steel around the muzzle only .076" thick with a 7/16" OD thread. Thread it 1/2x28 and index the brake against the muzzle.

Gunsmithing help with 80% CNC build...

Sounds like the safety hole is a smidge too low. I had a factory lower that was like this a while back. I ended up tapering the back of the trigger down slightly until it cleared the diameter of the safety selector.

    Rifle Scopes Tremor2 or Horus

I just went through this myself and ended up with the Tremor2. The wind dots are actually very useful because I dont have to remember what my wind drift is per MPH of wind. For my load I just know that each dot is 3.7mph of wind. So I pull out my Kestrel and take a wind reading and go from...

Why have the front scope cap open up?

On scopes that are mounted high enough I like to have them open down against the rail/barrel for the objective cap and to the right for the eyepiece cap.

    Gunsmithing Chatter on barrel threads

I have to agree with those above, have you talked to the builder? Setup is key. I started with a 7x10 Harbor Freight lathe and I forced that thing to do stuff it was never meant to do so I have to learn quick about speeds and feeds as well as setup rigidity. You can make a light lathe give you a...

Reasons for you taking bolt-action over semi-auto?

Ive been working as an RO for a major match here in NC for the last 2 years or so and seen every type of high end gun come through the match. Every shooter running a semi has at least one malfunction of some type at every match. 99% of the time its a simple magazine related issue that can be...

    Maggie’s Expert marksman?

Shooting Expert at the Edson isnt really that hard for someone who is willing to listen to their PMIs and Coaches. It requires you to score 305 out of 350 possible points. Even recruits qualify now with ACOGs which a bunch of people find much easier at distance. Personally I miss my old carry...
