So your saying on those cases that are different you would just not push the handle all the way down. Whats the ratio on the ones that you have to redo? Seems inconsistent but im always looking.to speed.up the process.
How the heck did you swag it without sorting? I find even L.C brass webbing can be so differnt in differnt years that my dillon 600 will do nothing if its adjusted for another year or bind like crazy.. And if i put winchester in with adjusting its even more so. So i sort by make, then year after...
Anyone know if an old Eddystone can be tuned up. I havent looked much into so im not sure if they even make a barrel or better stocks. Just curious really.
Well i loaded 15 at 44. She does shoot good but some have a little stick bolt just like the test loads before. I also uniformed, drilled the primer holes and deburred the holes and am getting single digit SD's. I feel as though there safe but im not going any higher. Average fps is 2637. Shooter...
I went out in the reload room to get the number off the box and they are 180's not 200 grain. Sorry for the missinfo. But i get bullets from my local gun store and online. I do like the 220's the best of all though.
Thats one of the main reasons i dont like playing around close to a max charge. I could tell a change in my mild load if i left it in the sun right now but its just a bit more speed. Thanks for the info on the different powders. Ill look at it
I join a 1K club in Houston to maybe get into f t/r comps. Besides a physical problem I'm trying to overcome I also have a equipment problem. I have a load for my 24"308 reminton 5r that is a great load at 600, light recoil,& easy on the brass butt its only 2525 fps at the muzzle. I tested some...
I also use the 200 grain round noise for my sub loads so dont think your stuck to just useing 220's. Im also useing trailboss powder. Been stable to 200 yards. But its got a hell of a drop out there ;) Eta. Same gun as OP
Hey,doing a really close up view of the the extractor claw it looks like one side is not machine right. The pic looks like one side has the lip like it should (top) but the other side is 2-3times as thick (bottom). Is that just the pic? I would take that bolt apart and look at it real close...
Rodger that. I would take the bolt out and put a remington case in the bolt head and look real close at the extractor. Then put in a lapua case. Im betting the glaw isnt going all the way into the grove to be able to pull the case out. Could be the creakote to. Thats a good point. Hopefully some...
Man i wish i could get my 308 5r in the .3's. Im stuck in the .6's with handloads. Not to change the topic but whats the normal barrel life for a 300wm barrel these days?
Whats your fps on that starting load? A crono is just as important as a good scale. Not cronoing when working up loads is like driving blindfolded to me. I would also take the bolt out and see if when you place a piece of lapua brass in the bolt head and does the extractor go around the rim or...
Im getting right at .60" 5shot grouping with my 308 5R. Now this is with my own handloads. Its not a super dupper one hole wonder gun but she does what i need it to do. I do like the ease of changeing barrels in a savage though.
