You are correct, the V2 rear skin does add more flat surface. I will look harder at it.

As an update, I got a reply back from Leupold and my M3 that was purchased used in 2001 is new enough that they can do the switch over. Not sure what year it was actually manufactured and they didn't say.

The problem with (almost) all of the non-adjustable stocks is getting the proper cheek weld while firing the weapon. You can do the old standby military method of foam and duct tape but it looks scabbed together. With regards to the trigger, factory Remington's just don't adjust light enough...

I have both setups and the 308 just sits in the safe but the Grendel goes to the range quite a bit. Can't really explain it other than to mention that the AR Grendel is just plain fun to shoot.

You could also look for some H4831SC Since you are running a gas rifle you need to worry about cycling the action and I suspect H1000 will not build sufficient pressure.

What load are you using to go along with the 180 Bergers? What velocity?

Also gotta take in to account if the barrel is a FACTORY Remington or Winchester or Savage because, at least in my experience, they seem to be slower than a good smooth aftermarket barrel. I have a Remington LTR in 308 with a 20" barrel. It will not consistently stay supersonic at 1000 yards at...
