Re: This Little Piggy Went to Market...
Congrats again Ishi. I missed being with you and seeing it live but the video almost makes me feel like I was there.
More pigs down by son(Ishikawa) & I last evening. 2 of them were taken simultaneously and the one on the left Ishi took at 150yds. with a head shot. Estimated 120 smallest to 160 largest. Headed back this afternoon to hopefully add a few more!!
Twin UGSW Kukri's in 260 & 308 w/NF 2.5-10 X 24 m/m
Re: BACON!!
Awesome shot indeed! I am the, let's say "more mature" guy in the picture and witness to this adventure. I was beside Ishi and I could not make out the black boar in the near darkness with my naked eye.
I think that the NF lighted reticle was a big help in this instance.
Re: Bambi Killer Eliminated
Thanks for the nice comments, gentlemen.
JSTARZ....very, very handy rifle.
jeff 03...the wait is hell, but worth it.
ishi......maybe with luck you can bring the cans when you come
Re: Bambi Killer Eliminated
Thanks, but I can't take credit for a neck shot. It looked like a recent wound that was healing. I took the pic to show the chompers. Love the rifle!
Re: Mama Don't Miss
Ishi, thanks for the compliment. Ishi has a twin Kukri in 308. He was banging steel at 750 at Best of the West near Austin last Friday.
We get up at the butt crack of dawn to try our luck at a little hog elimination.
Mama of course takes the first shot (I ain't crazy) at the biggest (a dry mama) which by texasboars.com formula is 130#. The 243 Model 7 barks & DRT.
I then get on the shoats with my new UGSW Kukri in 260 and...
Re: UGSW...full of surprises
MLC, the 24's were originally purchased for use on AR's but just didn't suit our purposes. We were walking a lot and needed faster & closer target acquisition (on hogs) We ended up with aimpoints & are happy.
So we had the 24's and they were a good fit & also had...
Re: UGSW...full of surprises
Thank you sandwarrior. This kinda thing makes me proud.
As far a more dead piggies, Deb (wife) put this dry mama to sleep Sunday pm with her 243 model 7. Estimated 160# according to TexasBoars.com formula.
Re: UGSW...full of surprises
For a surgically repaired shoulder the 260 is the way to go. Mild recoil. Initially I wanted Mike to install a brake but he suggested that I wait and test the recoil.
I'm glad he did. The pigs they no likey.
Re: UGSW...full of surprises
Got to the range yesterday with the KUKRI 260 and not so windy conditions as our first shoot. I warmed up at 100 with 5 shots that measured .750 C to C. Without the lone pull to the right, it was .350.
Then I moved to 200 and the 5 measured 1.63. The last 5 shots...
Re: UGSW...full of surprises
GOTCHA! From the dad. Now he'll never trust me. This thing went off just as planned. Thanks to my family & Mike.
Mike went along with me when I asked him to keep mine a secret and was very helpful to a newbie. These KUKRI's are awesome! The .260 is so smooth. We...
