    SSG69 Bipod question

Have you considered mounting a Parker-Hale spigot where the front stud is located? I have an Anschutz rail and use a handstop/spigot with an original Parker-Hale on my SSG69. It is definitely a hefty and dated setup, but it works. Another option is to hunt down a McMillan stock for it; I don't...

    Suppressors Handgun Help

Re: Handgun Help With the Anaconda, try putting in 2 snap caps with 4 live rounds when you're shooting a string. That should identify real quick if you're using too little finger surface on the trigger. Edited to add: In a two hand grip, you may also be putting too much pressure with the...

    Light vs. Heavy Rimfire Trainer

Re: Light vs. Heavy Rimfire Trainer Thanks for the input everyone. I've found that the Anschutz 1917 is much more forgiving of poor technique compared to my Kimber. If my heart rate is elevated for example, the Anschutz would move far less than the lighter rifle. I just wanted to see if...

    Light vs. Heavy Rimfire Trainer

It seems to me that the recent trend is for people to run a heavy barrel trainer. Of course, this gives more inherent accuracy and reduces the effects of shooter error. A heavy rifle will lessen the ramifications of small variables such as pulse, breath control, muscular tension, etc. They make...

    little help here?

Re: little help here? You seem to be "hunting" the bolt slightly when you cycle it. I would try to stick out your trigger finger to the bottom of the bolt handle before you cycle it. That will give you a tactile verification before cycling instead of grabbing at it. Definitely solid technique...

5.56 vs .308 the 9mm vs .45acp argument of rifles?

Re: 5.56 vs .308 the 9mm vs .45acp argument of rifles? Okay...I gave a real answer in your other thread, which I now regret. WTF.

.308 or 5.56 whats your go to rifle and why?

Re: .308 or 5.56 whats your go to rifle and why? Time for an honest answer: the primary thing that will give you an advantage is a razor sharp mind and rock solid training. The minute differences between rifles are completely irrelevant at your current level of knowledge.

.308 or 5.56 whats your go to rifle and why?

Re: .308 or 5.56 whats your go to rifle and why? Does your Red Ryder have a compass in the stock and a thing that tells time? I have a friend that was in SEAL MARSOC SF Black Ops and he said real snipers think those two mods are essential.

SAVAGE MKII heavy vs. sporter barrel

Re: SAVAGE MKII heavy vs. sporter barrel Great study! I'm new to the Hide, I'm really impressed to see people take the initiative to learn their rifles like this. My experience has been that on average, a heavy barrel .22 will shoot better than a sporter weight, both in cold bore and...

    maintaining a Rem 700

Re: maintaining a Rem 700 When I was shooting in collegiate competition, we would clean our chambers regularly but not the barrels. Be careful to not go too far though and touch the rifling at all, otherwise, you may as well just clean the whole thing. I haven't had a problem before with...
