Re: Remington 700P Equivalent What I did was go with the 700 SPS Varmint. It has the exact same barrel, action and trigger as the 700P, minus the HS Precision stock. I sold the stock and bought an HS right away. It actually cost me less to do that than buy a 700P for practically the exact...
When I replaced my old factory stock on my Remington 700 sps varmint, with an HS Precision stock, my trigger guard is in the way of my bolt release button in front of my trigger (x-mark pro). When I press it down, it gets stuck and won't reset. Would it hurt to file the trigger gaurs down a bit...
Re: DIY Mil-Dot Master I sense some turmoil. If you want to remove it go ahead. My goal wasn't to make Bruce Robinson's wife go out of business. Thank you for those who have enjoyed it.
Re: DIY Mil-Dot Master The way I rationalize it is that I want people to learn from what I posted. This is a stretch, but if it means that an LEO/Military Sniper needs one of these, but doesn't have the original and/or can't afford one, I want the info to be out there so lives can be saved...
Re: DIY Mil-Dot Master My apologies for copying the name/product. I realize Bruce Robinson made an outstanding tool so I should give him credit. I hope people can use this as a reference if they do not have the original. By all means, if you can afford it, buy the real Mil-Dot Master. It is a...
Re: DIY Mil-Dot Master Thanks for the positive feedback. And strangedays, I, in no way, am trying to rip off the company. It's just a neat tool I thought people on the forums would like. If you want a quality product, buy the damn thing.
Hello all, My apologies for taking this thread down. What I posted was just the the result of a bored 16 year old, and was all in good nature. However, I understand now that that what I posted may hurt the business of the real Mil-Dot Master and its owners and that was not my intention. To...
Re: I said I would never own a Glock... What's not to love about the Glock 17? It's only the most popular and widely used pistol in the police force today. It sets the standard in the ultimate handgun. Way to go Patrick! And hey, you are from Vermont too!
Re: My First Precision Rifle Thanks for the kind words everyone. I look forward to taking her to the range. And 1eyedjack1, I bought the stock with the cheek rest already installed. I'll come back with some range results as soon as I can.
Hey guys, this is my first precision rifle, which I just put together and wanted to show off. I am new to long range shooting, and I think this should help me out a bit. What do you think? This is my set up: Remington 700 SPS Varmint BDL .308, 26" barrel X-mark Pro Trigger HS Precision Stock...
Re: Thinking about buying a rifle. What about this one The Rem 700 SPS Varmint is a fine choice. Yes, the stock is crap, so replace it. You can find a HS Precision stock on eBay for a deal or just buy one new from the company with your own color/style choice. The SPS Varmint has the same...
Re: new and out of my league Welcome to the hide, fez. Like khooks said, this forum is a HUGE resource and you will find tons of info on here. Just find some time to sit back, read, and become a better marksman. Ethan
Re: Finally got my rifle, 700 SPS, rookie question +1 to Elxx's post. I believe HS and Badger make them as well, but they will still cost you a pretty penny.
Hey guys, another question. I have some old backpacks and a jacket, primarily made of nylon, I was thinking of dyeing a more OD color rather than their not-so-tactical bright colors. I did some research, but couldn't find much good info. Supposedly you can do it with acid dyes? Couldn't find...
