Gunsmithing Penn Foster or similar gunsmith courses

Does anyone have any thoughts on these corspondence type gunsmith courses? Has anyone taken them or know someone who has taken them? I was wondering if they were a viable way to learn basic gunsmithing or a complete waste of money. Thank you for any input. Respectfully Greg
