    Re: 300wm or 308 which is more accurate If you're just starting out, get the .308 and work on your fundamentals. The barrel life will be way better and the ammo will cost less. Once you shoot out your first barrel, you'll be ready to decide on your next move.

    Re: fixed 10x scope on all a round hunting rig? I have a SS 10X on my .308 and I use it for situations where I know I won't be getting close. If I know I'll be in thick forest or short range situations, I take my lever gun with irons. It all just depends on the terrain you're hunting.
