I pick a run of the mill upper range load of a powder I have on hand. They run slower than advertised but typically shoot fantastic accuracy wise. My personal rule of thumb after is to neck size one more firing before setting my die up to full length and bumping so I know I’m getting a correct...
This is my primary hunting/light setup the only change made from this pic is it now wears an tbac ultra 5 can that is a bit lighter. The barrel is a #6 Broughton cut to 21” and the entire setup comes in at 15lbs even with a fairly heavy optic.
I have hunted with both a 7-35 and a 5-25 pmii but my primary hunting setup has a 3-15 Premier on it. Between the NF and S&B both are great just a smidge large depending on your hunting style here in the Texas plains they are fine imo. In heavy brush the 3-15 is better imo but your mileage may vary.
I have ran a ton of the 6mm Creed which is ADG which has been as fantastic as Lapua but I bought it at half the price. It is now within a couple dollars so I would opt for the blue box imo.
223 or 223ai in my case with an 75 or 80 are mainstays in my safe. They are such a pleasure to run and will enlighten plenty of folks or in some cases deflate egos because you aren't running x y or z "superior" caliber.
One of my favorites. Surgeon 591 that has been dlc coated McMillan A3-5 with surgeon bottom metal Broughton barrel chambered in 223ai Hawkins Heavy tax one piece mount Schmidt 5-25
There was some finicky feeding issues reported with 223 on the tl3 early on and from what I remember bighorn offered a push feed bolt face for it. That being said I would bet it is more than likely a mag issue being the rounds need to sit more flat in the crf setups versus slightly nose up in...
I have about 1300 rounds on my 22 creed. It still shoots lights out but the throat has significant wear on it so I suspect its not long for. I have ran primarily 90gr Berger's out of it but have ran a bit of 88 eld-m too. I found powder affected things more than anything. Rl-26 caused a lot of...
