    Sako Quad - review

    Well that is a great question. Barrelled action went to Lilja today for inconsistent velocities. This is very unusual for their barrels. I bought a new firing pin and firing pin spring just to get rid of ignition possibilities...issue continued. Im sure they will make it right.

    Tikka T1x in a MPA BA chassis?

    Looks good. I "borrowed" the MPA off my Tikka T3 .223 and was bummed when I new I had to make modifications. Not worth it for a chassis meant for the other gun.

    what BC and bullet lenght?

    I use a G1 BC of .16. I believe bullet length only matters for spin drift so....yeah I basically ignore accuracy here. I always use a length of .25"

    Lot testing

    I prefer the best grouping ammo with the smallest SD when chrono'd. Thankfully my locally gun store carries a good selection of match ammo and typically, not always, has more than one lot. I buy a couple boxes of each and then pick the best one. He will then sell me a case of that one.

    22 Zero Range?

    You'll find that the majority of guys are zeroing at 50yds. While the 25/50 are close I tend to be able to get out further when zerod at 50. If you shoot competition there tend to be more targets at 50 than 25.

    Just like Kissofdeath posted, my Tikka T1x also likes most ammo. When I bought I tried several brands and weight bullets. Ive found that the Hornady 17gr vmax are the most reliable at feeding and group size. The 20gr were also good shooters but would occasionally not feed 100%

    Rimfire can cleaning

    I shoot a TacSol Axiom and find that if I wait longer than 500 rounds or so it's a nightmare to clean. Ill have to try the motor oil trick. Cant hurt

    Tikka Firing Pin Issues

    Juggerxx - That would be great if you could measure it for me. I'd really appreciate it. Which bullets and velocities are your hand loads? I'm just about to send it off to get the firing pin hole bushed and taken down to a small firing pin size. I hate to do that on a brand new rifle.
