Well I was afraid that this would not be a workable solution. That's fine, no problem. I am not going to try to make it work if others have already beat it to death. However, the response from TheHorta was very enlightening insight. I had not thought of that before. SO, I decided to quite my...
So I just got a full power PEQ-15, finally. I have a PVS-14 and a PVS 30. I have a Swarovski Rangefinder. It does not have a Pic rail attachement, just the little screw hold in the bottom. I have 3 long guns that I like to shoot at night. I would like to be able to range things at night, and at...
Re: Remington 5R finished & fairly accurate I got mine finished a few days ago and took it out for it's second time. Using the 208 amax I was getting 1.3 - 1.5 inch groups at 200 yards..300 WM. Hopeing to improve my technique and bed the rifle and get a little bit better groups.
Re: Brass Sizing Question A neck sizing die won't bump the shoulder. I don't know about the die you have in your set for full length sizing but the one in my redding competition die set is just for bumping the shoulder. You carefully just touch the case to the die when you set it and then...
Re: Savage or Remington From what I have gathered Remington and Savage both suck, and do really well at the same time. Looks like it depends who you are talking to. Anyway I have a 5r in .300 WM and it shoots better than I do so there.
Re: How critical is range finding ability? I don't like BDC reticles on a bolt gun. The reticle is going to end up only being approx when you do your load development. Then it is going to change when you go to different altitudes and environments. With a little shooting you will be able to...
Re: Jewell Trigger is it worth it?? I say figure out a way to try them out. Find someone with a rifle that has the type you wanna try and try it. It is the only way you will know if it is worth it. It is completely based on personal preference. I have a Jewel on my 5R and I think it is the...
Re: Aimpoint with magnifier I had an eotech that I put a magnifier on. I never really liked it that much. It worked better for longer shots but it still was lacking some. I would go with the variable.
Re: Trijicon my best option? Yellow is actually my favorite color for Trijicon scopes. I had an ACOG with yellow and it was great. Now I only have an ACOG with red which I really like also.
Re: pistol in 357sig - recommendations? I really like the 229. I have a 229 in 40 s&w and it is my favorite pistol. In all honesty I don't think the .357 Sig can do anything the .40 s&w can't do, and the .357 Sig is way more expensive. Just put lighter bullets in a .40 s&w and you have the...

Re: Future of 6.8 SPC?? I have an AR in 6.8, and it really shines in short barrel rifles and with handloads. There are some companies making more powerful ammo now like Wilson and maybe one other that I can't recall. I have only ever shot handloads through mine though so I don't have much...
Re: 300 WM Load Question Become a member of Desert Marksman. Do know where that is? Off the 14 freeway in Palmdale area. Great range, has paper all the way to 600 yards and then there's a 1000 yard line. It is a private range though so you gotta be a member.
Re: 1st time at the dot drill Try a rear bag to to help you steady the shot, in addition to everything else already said. It simply looks like the gun is not being pointed in the same place each time.
Re: Nightforce Optic Question Sorry if this is off the purpose of the thread but is the 20 moa base really needed? I have an nxs 5.5-22x56 and it has 100 moa adjustment I think. Isn't that more than enough for just about anything he could do with a .308 or even a .300 WM?
Re: Just built these sister rifles That is a little upsetting actually. I use 208 Amax's in my .300 WM and only get like 2900 or so. That is with a 24 inch barrel. I am going to have to experiment with some other powders at some point to see if I can get more.
Re: will NF 5.5-22 hold 12ga recoil on light shotgun? A nightforce will hold up to any handheld gun you could put it on that I know of. And probably a lot that are bigger than handheld ones.
