I am looking into purchasing a Savage Hog Hunter. I want to put a Surefire 762SS brake on it for my can but cant find anywhere the diameter of the barrel at end. If anyone has one sitting in the safe and could measure it for me I would appreciate it!
I am getting desperate. I shoot round nose bullets out of my 308's subsonic but I cant seem to find any, anywhere. I have a load now for 180 Hornady, but at this point I just want to get something similar. If you have any info on where I can find some please let me know.
I have 2 762SS brakes on my rifles. I have yet to clean the crown or see accuracy issues. Likely 3000 through one and 2000 through the other and I shoot suppressed often. Does it get dirty and look nasty in there yes, but do I notice an issue, not yet....
Use the mag and this wont happen. Single loading can cause this cause the free floating pin. I have experienced it. It can be that there is a high primer, but I would bet on it being because the single loading practice cause it seems to happen so often. JMO
I have a Surefire 762SS that I would like to be able to put on a factory threaded rifle, however most of the heavy barreled, factory threaded rifles such as the 700 AAC have to much barrel OD for the required brake to work. Would it be possible to make or does anyone already make an adapter that...
I have tried 175 SMK's loaded backwards with trailboss. They left the barrel, but they made a hell of a strange noise and went all over the place. Absoloutely no stabilization for me. I use 180 Rn flat base bullets now. I wont go back to testing that, too expensive and didnt work whatsoever.
In some loads in my shorter rifles I see a plateau in velocity gain. I chocked it up to incomplete burn but dont know all the science behind it. For example 43.5 varget produces 2525, 44 of varget produces 2575, 44.5 varget produces 2625, and 45 varget produces 2530. Those are just easy...
I have a 308 GAP 10 with the Noveske block and after run it fairly often with a surefire can and it works fine. I have noticed that it is a little finicky on how I shoulder it suppressed, but once you figure it you youll be fine.
I did get pretty good groups with it. I didnt mess with the CFE much further. For those of you skeptics, I am glad I keep immaculate records. GRAFS / SMK 175 CFE 223 45.5 Fed 210M 1.623 2.810 2769FPS GRAFS / SMK 175 CFE 223 46 Fed 210M 1.623 2.810 2814FPS 0.54"@100 GRAFS / SMK 175 CFE 223 46.5...
